Yes, it had a good story
1st time to listen to Cochrans, would look for another book by her
I wouldn't recommend this because I found the story convoluted and unbelievable. At the same time [and this is a spoiler alert] I hate it when everything boils down to that same old saw: she had an inconvenient baby.
I had a hard time with this. Grown women acting like love-sick teenagers; or just sick. A grown man who was fully capable everywhere but in his own home, teenagers who are one dimensional. I didn't buy any of it.
Slaughter used gratuitous violence instead of good story-telling. Her characters were stock people. It was like listening to a child move paper dolls around, albeit a very sick child.
This was my first audible book. The performance was good but I felt the story faltered a little bit near the end. Overll enjoyable
I stopped reading thrillers for awhile because the plots had become predictable (that's probably MY issue though), and took a break to read some sci-fi. I can't remember what made me download this particular book, but I'm glad I did. The book was full of twists and surprises, none of which I saw coming. None of the characters were particularly likeable, and by the end of the book it felt like I knew them.
Every character has a flaw, and the flaws are so interwoven that I never knew what to expect.
At first I thought the narrator was struggling with some of the dialects, but as I got further into the book it sounded smoother. It was very easy to tell the characters apart.
Fallen isn't an especially long book, but it held my attention and made me listen a little longer than I'd intended to! This would be a great book to accompany a project like sealing the deck or wallpapering.
I am an avid reader! Now I guess an avid Listener. I am addicted to Audible, and love how it keeps me focused when I am trying to get my work done. I am also a really fun kids entertainer... some Adults too!
I enjoyed this, but I was kinda glad when it ended. the author kept you in suspense way too long. I think the story could have been finished about 2 hours sooner. good story just dragged some.
To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.
Secrets have a way of coming back to haunt you, and boy did it. Great story, character development, total set up, nosy neighbor, couple of twists and you have a very good story. I will definitely read more stories by this author. Amanda made me angry a couple of times, but I guess to be in her position you have to be a hard-ass.
Narrator did a credible job, she didn't turn me off at all, you get used to her.
This book took a little while for me to get into, probably because I didn't realize I was reading the 5th book in a 6 book series. But the Narration preformed by Shannon Cochran was great. She has soo many different voices its easy to follow along as to who is talking in the book & she switches between them flawlessly.
The book gripped you in immediately which was great since many good books start so slow. The characters seem very real and I cared about them.
This plot did keep me on the edge. My husband wanted me to watch TV with him but I couldn't put the book down so we watched much later on after I finished the book.
I have not heard her before but I think she did a great job.
One of the few thrillers I've really enjoyed in a long time.
I always finish a book so I finished this ridiculous story. A cop who can't read? Come on. And that's just one of the absurdities.
