I would absolutely recommend this to all my friends who are in need of a good laugh, it's funny everytime you listen to it.
I loved this. I played it for my friends and they all want a copy. The words are rough, but anyone that has ever tried to get a child to go to sleep understands completely.
the main character is the Father, portrayed by Morgan Freeman. He makes it worth listening.
The first few sentences.
Nobody says it ("f--k") like samuel does! Profane, but it took away absolutely nothing from this audiobook. Two thumbs up!
I was a Sci-Fi Geek before Big Bang made it cool. Love Mysteries, Fantasy, Horror, Steampunk, and Mash-ups.
The hear Samuel L Jackson read this is to funny. My wife and I could not stop laughing. As parents we could relate easily.
Samuel L. Jackson
Its hard to seriously rate a book with this title. Samuel L. Jackson obviously adds to the experience. Its hard to say this is a star book, although the guts to write such a book should get serious credit!
You probably shouldnt say it but, if you have kids you have at the very least thought the words, Go the F--k to Sleep. A short and funny story read by an excellent narrator. I would recommend it as a gift for every new parent out there.
it made me laugh for a few days everytime i thought about it
Married mother of three teenagers, back to work after 15 years at home - when I read a lot. Now I am the assistant to the Mayor of Omaha and work at least 60 hours a week, and on top of what I have to do at home - no more books. This lets me listen to the classics, the latest, whatever I want. I can learn or escape. I have always love audio books, but now I NEED them.
Watching my teenager laugh like she would have at a normal story ten years ago.
Samuel L. Jackson - sooooooo funny.
Near the end, I don't want to spoil a moment!
The look on my husband's face when he walked in and heard what I was playing for our daughter...priceless.
I even played this at work, parents and non-parents alike LOVED it. Big hit!
Even though I realize it's meant to be humorous with the cursing and all, I would tone down the language just a touch.
I would, because it is a humorous look at parenting.
He brings his unique voice and acting to the story and really communicates the narrator's exasperation with their child.
I'm not sure
The idea is clever, but goes on too long so it stops being funny very quickly.
