Like I said true on every level. Spoken from someone with kid who burns the midnight oil I've probably thought it. But I'll tell you, my Mamma used to make me bite on a bar of ivory soap. Save it for the movies Mr. Sam.
I laughed so hard because all I could hear was myself and my friends. You also couldn't have gotten a better perso to read it than Samual L Jackson.
This is "f_ing" HILLARIOUS! I can't remember when I've laughed so much at any audio-book - all parents should have this for instant stress-relief! The narrator could not have done it any more PERFECTLY than he did - absolutely BRILLIANT! My new top-of-the-list FAVORITE Audible book!
It may sound fun for adults when they listen to this monogue, but I would definitely not let my kid listen to it in order to make her go to sleep. Samuel L. Jackson insists that he was turning this on for his daughter as a lyllaby, but I don't want to believe it... For me it is too aggressive, but I must admit, both my husband and I are laughing everytime we hear this speech. It reminds us of our situation with our kids at their sleep time.
I think this book is hilarious. And if you are a parent who struggles with getting your child to go to sleep you understand. If you're one of those parents who claims they don't have this problem forget you go read Dr. Suess. I think, from now on, this is going to be my baby shower gift of choice. I may even read it to my daughter, but I will have to edit out the F bombs since she is only 7 and gets terribly offended when I curse.
Six minutes? Give me a break. It was hilarious and Samuel Jackson did a wonderful job, but really? It wasn't long enough to bother with the purchase (yes, it was cheap), the download, the transfer to my ipod. I would consider a collection of these stories a "book". This was only a joke.
I just couldn't get past the f work every ten seconds- ya I know, I thought it would be funny, it's not like I didn't know it would be there, for cryin' out loud it's in the title...but I just kept picturing reading it to my kid, and couldn't deal...not my cup o'tea...
I really enjoyed listening to this book. The book is done tongue-in-cheek but I could really relate! The choice of narrator couldn't have been better. I've always liked Samuel L. Jackson as a film actor as well as a voice actor. Very, very funny! Definitely a must-listen audiobook in my opinion!
This book had me laughing so hard, my oldest kids came out to see why I was laughing so hard, and they started laughing with me.
It was a good half hour before we could talk without cracking up.
I told them I am playing it for them every night before bed now.
