Right at the top for sheer comic relief.
The first time I heard Jackson say Go the --k to SLEEP!
I listen to this when I need a laugh on a bad day.
cheap and easy to download.
funny and sounds very familiar
I could not read it that loundly
Relatable and Hilarious
I laughed and shared this audiobook with everyone.
You'll want to listen to this story over and over again.
This was a free offering at the time. I heard about it and thought I should check it out. The title of the book says it all.
former nuclear scientist
Samuel L. Jackson is the perfect choice for narrator. Of course, people think of him whenever the F word is involved. For good reason! He takes a story whose concept is in danger of wearing thin imediately, even after 5 minutes, and makes it hilarious.
The total juxtaposition of listening to the bedtime story in Samuel L. Jackson's voice. I visualized his character from Pulp Fiction trying to get this child to sleep. The whole time I'm was listening I kept thinking . . . "here it comes! Go the f-k to sleep." And died laughing each time.
When the dad wakes up to find the child is actually asleep
No I haven't listened to his other audio performances.
Hysterical, True and True
The voice, the inflection...the fact that you can just seem him (and every other desperate parent in the world) in just this spot!
Having once laid down across a doorway to contain a non sleeping toddler, I actually put my head down on my desk with tears of laughter streaming down my face when I listened to this book at work.
Yes, I listen to it whenever I need a laugh. Samuel L. Jackson just sells the tone of the book so well.
I have 2 children so I could relate to this book
enjoyed the whole book
He brings himself, if you are casting this particular book, he is the guy.
The background music makes it even better.
