I'm a grad student with very little time to edit reviews because I'm editing research papers. Forgive the typos. They're made with love.
Congratulations! You've made it to Book 10 in Nalini Singh's pay-changeling series, and as a reward, here is not one but two love stories. This one has been brewing since book 1 and has had plenty of time to stew. Now to taste.
Hawk is the Wolf Changeling Alpha. Sienna is a deadly X psy struggling with her ability. The've been arguing since day one so we all knew this was coming. Sienna can't help that she hates her crush, and Hawk thinks she's a kid since she's so much younger than he is. It's all just so explosive.
Walker and Lara get a nice little side story in this as well, finally acting on a few things we saw in the last book. Now if Books 4, 7, and 8 had been given this treatment, the series would be much stronger. Bravo. Listen now!
Hawke & Sienna.
And see lots of Judd
NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4 1/2
This book had me busting up laughing, crying, and screaming NOOOOOO, so many times I loved it!!! Will after my anxiety levels came down a few notches. I was so excited to finally get to this book. Have been waiting for Hawke’s book since the moment that we met him in Slave to Sensation. My only gripe about this book was that there was not more Hawke & Sienna. While I loved the parts of Walker and Lara I wanted more of Sienna challenging Hawke. But even with that I loved this book.
Hawke & Sienna are so perfect for each other that it really did make the painful wait till book 10 for their story. I really hope that we get to see more of Hawke & Sienna in future books and what lays ahead for them.
Again Angela does an amazing job of bringing Nalini’s characters to life. I am truly in awe of the voices that this girl can do! They are all very different and distinct. Until the next book ladies (which I am starting today)!!!!
If you have not read any of the Psy-Changeling books. I really think that you need to start from the beginning. So much happens over the years to the Packs, the Council, the world that if you just picked up book 10 you may not get the full impact of the story line. So go get yourself a copy of Slave to Sensation, or do what I did and get it on audio. :) But read this series!!!
I purchased the book from Audible.com and this review is my own opinion and not a paid review.
Hawk get his Woman!
I loved them all
The battle where she shows what she can really do
By now (book 10) there is so much going on and I appreciate Ms Singh kept it all going. I also liked that this was mostly about Hawk and Sienna, but found myself getting completely caught up in Lara & Walker's story.
Even though I'd been waiting since like, book 3 or whatever for the Sienna/Hawk drama to go down, I was blindsided by the quiet Lara and Walker story, and almost wished it had been more about them (thank goodness the Wild Invitation short stories are out on Audio, one of which focusing on these two). Not that all of the dominant ladies aren't fun to read about, but I am SUCH a sucker for subtle love stories. Still waters run deep and all that.
Ms Singh really kicks it into high gear with this book. There is some serious action and some serious romance. She really laid it all out and I think it paid off. I am SO glad I decided to download the first book in this series. Assuming the end of the series doesn't fall flat on its face, I bet this will be a perennial favorite for me. (For reference, my other fav Paranormal Romance series is Immortals After Dark. They are not really similar outside of being in the same genre, but both have that certain something that sets them above the rest, IMHO.)
Fire meets ice.
Honestly I don't know what I can compare this book too.
She just does the character voices sooooo well.
This is my favorite book in the series. I have listened to it at least 7 times. I love the way things just kept building up and how they didn't just fall right into each other. The hero was having a hard time of letting go in his mind but his heart knew what was really right for him and the heroine who is really strong knew how to push buttons and keep it moving without seeming like she was desperate for him.
I have read/listened to a many of Ms. Singh's books but for some reason this one did not rate highly among them. The story was missing something. But I did enjoy the updates on characters from previous books.
I think this is my favorite of all the books in this series. Of course I haven't read the next one but I find it hard to believe it will out do this one. Hawk and Sienna are a wonderful couple as are Walker and Lauren. Everything came together in this book. Really good romance and a huge battle. Really great characters and well thought out plot. I can't wait to see where the next one goes.
This is one of my favorite books in the Psy-Changeling series. I waited for Hawke's story for so long. He deserved somebody like Sienna. They deserved each other. I also enjoyed the way the relationships have grown, especially the relationship between the SnowDancers and DarkRiver. War is looming over the horizon and things can't get any easier for the characters.
I loved the bar scenes. I could just picture Hawke's face on he found Sienna. I couldn't stop laughing. I also enjoyed his playfulness in this book.
Yes, if you like this series you'll love this one.
It chronicles wolf and answers many questions about the backstory
Couldn't choose just one.
I enjoyed the whole book had a hard time putting it down
