Miss Iyanla Vanzant narration gave life to her story. I felt her highs and lows through her tone. I experienced triggers of my own life revisited for healing for myself...I love this woman.
Iyanla is a wise woman and I learned a lot from this book on how your family history impacts you and how to overcome it. I think she is a great woman and a good influence for young girls. I was very disappointed however in her overwhelming mention of her daughter that passed away and how she barely spoke of her other two children. it was hurtful to me and I can imagine them how she kept saying her daughter was her best friend and all that. I can understand her grief as I am a mother myself but to neglect her living children in the book was a surprise.
This was an excellent choice to help with starting over, overcoming grief and loss. This book has given me a new energy to press forward. I shall try to answer the question who am I?
This book has spoken to me in many ways. Iyanla' story is both beautiful and heart wrenching. They way she speaks words of spirituality and awakening has opened my own heart and mind.
Absolutely loved this audio book. I constantly felt like her words could have easily been spoken by me, or someone I know. I'm positive that this powerful book will have something that anyone, especially women, can relate to. She poured out her soul! Very well done.
