Iyanla is a wise woman and I learned a lot from this book on how your family history impacts you and how to overcome it. I think she is a great woman and a good influence for young girls. I was very disappointed however in her overwhelming mention of her daughter that passed away and how she barely spoke of her other two children. it was hurtful to me and I can imagine them how she kept saying her daughter was her best friend and all that. I can understand her grief as I am a mother myself but to neglect her living children in the book was a surprise.
I love the places I travel and the things I see through books.
I recommend this to anyone needing to mend the fragments of their life. This was profound even for me a life coach and PhD Psychology student. I still had wounds I was licking unaware. Thanks YaYa!
I loved it and highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone who is willing to make peace with themselves and others. This journey will teach you how to understand and deal with the pathologies of our lives.
This is not for the faint of heart. This book is for those who DARE to have the faith and courage for something new.
Iyanla's raw, truthful account of her journey to self.... An amazing book from an amazing soul!
Number 1 Wonderful!!!!!!!
It made me laugh, think and think.
It was a very interesting story and also very motivating. I'm actually going to listen again. and take some notes because she had some very valid points and great insight on certain things. Her life seemed hard and makes me feel that I have no right to ever feel the way I do sometimes and that I should be grateful for the things that I never had to endure and also be grateful for some of the things that I have because they o my make you stronger. This shows the "realness" of her and gives all the more reason to want to listen to her advice. She is a strong woman and her strength is definitely helping me.
this book is excellent! anybody that is going thru something or trying to get thru something this is the book for you! the way Ms. Vanzant tells her story so eloquent and strong.
This book was everything I didn't know I NEEDED to read. Ms Vanzant's account of her life from childhood to present day was riveting. Peace from broken pieces is a must read for women and men who need a reminder that your past worth doesn't dictate your present self and future self.
