Yes I would, the audio version with the character voices create a vivid landscape that allows the minds eye to follow the story almost like sitting in front of a television.
Oberon would have to be my favorite character, the witty remarks made by this Dog got me laughing more than once.
Yes, I have listened to the whole series, Got hooked on the first book of the iron druid chronicles, and have enthusiastically followed the whole series.
I laughed quite a bit while listening to this book. Without the comic relief this book would have been much harder to listen to.
This series is without doubt one of my favorite, my many thanks to Luke Daniels, I have become a huge fan of his work, I especially like how he has found a way to work known mythology into a believable story line. The new way to look at old "mythological heroes" has opened my eyes to realizing that some old preconceptions about characters who generally get cast in a favorable light need not necessarily be conceptualized that way. Casting Thor as a bad guy along with the rest of Asgard was a brilliant move.
I find it hard to wait for the next book in the series, I hope this series continues for a long time. There is much back story to be told yet, and some of the characters such as the witches coven, or the wolf pack, and even the story of some of the elemental's, could have their own series of books.
Thank you so much Luke Daniels for creating a character that I can connect with after listening to this book, I am even more proud to have Irish blood.
Mom of 3 saved by her audiobook addiction!
Action, page turning, engaging!
The imagination of Kevin Hearne is incredible. Every part is riddled with mystery, magic, action, and fantasy
I love the way the characters are growing, and progressing
The narration is spot on! Luke Daniels is Atticus for sure!
Having a male lead in this role was such a nice change of pace!
The layering of plots and charters and the way it came together cohesively.
His Irish Wolfhound
Not as much as the third one
Yes. G vs. E with humor
Yes. I am on book # 4 in the series. I like his voice for this series.
The presentation of this book is excellent, as is the whole series
The journey with the druid
Luke Daniel's performance is one of the better of any other Audible book. He has a gift in portraying each character.
Good action story
The fight against a coven of German witches
The book didn't make me laugh or cry.
This is the 2nd boook in the series that I have read. His relationships with his dog, a werewolf, a vampire (both his 24/7 lawyers), his apprentice and a coven of witches are aspects I am looking forward to hearing develop. I am not a big fan of sword and sorcery, but this is a normal life with a smidgeon of the supernatural to add the spice of adventure - a good read.
A good continuation off of the first in the series. The author continues to grow and develop the characters very well. Kevin Hearne does a great job of making the characters real in these books and this helps pull you in. The performance by Luke Daniels is stellar he just nails it all the way through, I've listened to a lot of audio books and he is one of the best.
Fine, I never write reviews, but after hearing the Inigo Montoya reference this evening while driving home I had to say something....This author is a crack up! I guess it helps that I get virtually every cultural references he makes. Well of course if I don't get some, I may never know it...but that's beside the point .Plus I just spent a weekend in Tempe AZ, and was familiar with all the streets around the school and his fictitious book store. This book, as was the first book in the series(Hounded) are FUN, fast moving stories. I've never been real big into the Fantasy books. Usually I listen to Military Sci-Fi, but this book caught my eye(or ear I guess) and I listened to the sample. I was hooked...er..a..Hexed! I downloaded it paying cash of course. By Audible standards this book is a bargain....which of course looks to change at book 4, as Kevin Hearne becomes a superstar requiring an entire Token!(way to go Kevin).
The characters have depth, wit, and maybe even some evil charms! But of course leave it to an Irish wolfhound to steal the show. Luke(the force is with him) Daniels lends such a great voice to Oberon! The smartest dog ever....yet, he's still a dog in the end.(he loves a good sausage and a butt sniff) Those who read the book um...on paper(so old school) simply can't get quite the enjoyment that those audio book listeners get. Luke's voices are a huge part of the book. Glad to see he's signed on through book 6!
So, lot's of great Druid, Witches, Wolves, Crow, and an old Irish widow! Leave it to the wolf to be a lawyer! Can't wait for my 90 minute drive to work tomorrow..... A building was blowing up and heads were rolling when I turned it off this evening!
After reading through Keven Hearne's web site, it seems he's become a writing machine and Book 5 looks to be out before the end of the year!
Enjoy this one..but pay cash, since this steal of a book can't last much longer.
really good job reading the book
The Dog in the Story
you live for thousands of years and life still dosent get any easier
They are to short they need to be longer
The adventure, humor, and story crafting were very good in the first book of Iron Druid series, and improve to excellent in this second installment. Luke Daniels continues to impress with his portrayals of a wide variety of accents and characters. I look forward to the next the Iron Druid Chronicle.
