    "Been there read that!"

I had given up on Janet and the Stephanie novels cause they were so redundant. I have been a loyal follower since the series started. I was taking a short solo business trip thought this would be lite easy listen. Well, it was so disappointing. I could have written this book. The only thing that is worth it is the excellent reader Lorelei and how she makes all the characters come alive. But that didn't even to it for me this time. Janet, next one needs to be Ending Eighteen! Thanks for the ride though.

    "Stephanie Plum Fan"

While a fan of the series, it appears Janet Evanovich has gotten lazy in her writing. She is reusing lines from previous books and not developing the characters. Also, no longer developing the scenes between Joe and/or Ranger and Stephanie. Lots of obvious opportunities in this book for more details especially with the interaction between these primary characters, but all opportunities were passed up. In fact, some situations screamed for more explanation/reaction, but were ignored. Unfortunate, as these relationships are what we want to read about.

    "Not even Ok."

I have been a huge Janet Evanovich fan since discovering the series in 2005 and reading everything I could get my hands on by her. I have read MOST of her books (and loved them) BUT this book was not even 'ok.' It seems Janet got LAZY writting this book. I feel like I wasted my credit and my time by buying & listening to it. This book just sucks and did not leave me wanting to read another one in the Stephanie series.

    "Inane"

12 chapters into this book - I quit. It is stupid, has little plot and just doesn't hold my interest at all. The reader is very good, doing a lot of voices but the story isn't worth my time listening to it. I have never written a negative review before but after I saw the author on the Today show I felt I had to listen to it. Major disappointment - was looking for a good mystery or crime story but this was more about Lula eating and Plums' boyfriends and their sexual exploits than anything else.

    "This book was just ok."

It's better than the last few, but worth the price, no. It's time for this series to be over.

    "Same as the last one"

Lorelei King is awesome, she made the book enjoyable. It's kind of the same as the last one. Funny but lame.

"Wringing every dollar out of this tired series"

But I keep buying... :). I want it to end already. She is releasing another book in November, but at 6 hours + this is about a half a book, so it certainly pays to keep shortening them up if you can get people to buy 2 books instead of one. I feel like a sucker...

    "Beyond cliched"

For the last several Plum novels Evanovich has used an object or concept that is supposed to further the plot but ends up taking the place of the plot. Uncle Pip's Lucky Bottle, Vordo, whatever. It's a bit like my house in which the architect included some weird angled walls in place of real architectural details. Janet, you're going to have to work harder instead of pulling in stupid gimmicks. Sorry. You're first several novels were great--original, fresh and fun, but the last several needed better story lines. I would suggest re-booting and telling the next few novels from the perspective of another of the characters that inhabit Stephanie's world. Either find a fresh approach or 86 the Plum novels.

"Will Stephanie ever grow as a character?"

I have read or listened to every Stephanie Plum novel. I loved the first 5, and have tolerated them since. The problem isn't the narration - its the story. Stephanie hasn't evolved in years, her inability to decide between Ranger and Morelli is old and tired. She is no more competent as a bounty hunter, her friendship with Lula, as well as Lula herself, have failed to add any depth to her stories. Really disappointed, done and over her.

    "The old Stephanie is back!!"

I was a little disapointed in the 16 book and some of the off shoot books but this one put Stephanie back to her usual bumbling funny self and mis fit friends.
