I would definitely like to listen to the book again, but I would prefer to listen again without the editor commentary. I believe it would enhance the flow of the story and allow me to continue with the provoking thoughts without interruption. I did find the commentaries helpful at some times but mostly just distracting..
I remember the most intriguing and memorable moments being the description of the devil being made up of all negative energy, and the remarkably realistic interview.
His Majesty, the Devil.
I don't agree with this becoming a film itself, but I do feel that the devil in this form would make an interesting antagonist.
Again I truly enjoyed the book, but would like to be able to disable the editor’s comments so that I might be able to listen to the Interview uninterrupted.
If you want to know more about what is stopping you from finding success in your life, this audiobook will be of great value!
The first thing I want to say is that you should listen to Think and grow rich (Napoleon Hill) before you listen to this book. It will help you to follow the author's mind.
Another thing is that Sharon Lechter brings NOTHING more to the book whatsoever. It was actually really annoying having to listen to her whenever she comments as it brought nothing more to what Hill was already saying. Another thing is that she keeps pushing her book "3 feet from gold" and that too was really annoying.
Sharon Lechter doesn't comment too often so it's no TOO bad.
This being said, I HIGHLY recommend this book. It is a big eye opener on the keys to finding success in your life!
She really did ruin this book. Her voice is awful, almost as bad as her commentary. Please never try to improve another book ever again.
This book was written over 70 years ago but wasn't released until after the author's wife's death for many reasons. There is tremendous insight in the book especially in light of the fact many items mentioned were not known as medical, historical, or scientific facts at the time the author wrote the book.
If you believe the Bible (which I do) then some of the items mentioned do not 'line up' with Biblical truth. Therefore, it is critical that when reading/listening to the book, that the reader takes some of the items as part of the author's literary right.
I did not have issues with the editor's comments like other reviewers. Although at times, the editor did go over board with her comments, they provided an interesting perspective and gave some historical content for the author's writing.
It is well written and I recommend the book, especially since many of the items within the book not only have scientific proof but are now historical facts.
This is mind-blowing!!!! The fact that it was written in 1938, just boggles the mind at the information that Napoleon had. Incredible, incredible, incredible!!! Highly, highly recommend it for ALL!!!
The message in the book is excellent and delivered in a very interesting format. There is advice for all walks of life that I wish society could adopt as a whole for a better planet.
The brutal honesty wrapped in eloquent speech from an interesting viewpoint (the Devil).
No one.. that part was brilliant. The 'extra' commentary throughout the book from the publisher was distracting and unnecessary.
Without the constant interruptions from the editor, I would have enjoyed this audiobook. A simple foreword would've sufficed.
There ought to be a way to listen to the book, minus the commentary inserted by Ms. Lechter.
The editor, Sharon Lechter.
I wish I'd done my due diligence and read some of the reviews before purchasing this title from Audible. I'm surprised that anyone enjoyed this sort of delivery.
This book completely changed the way I see myself, my surrounding and the people I associate with. This self conflict book brings points that helped me further understand my flaws in the way I look at success and failure. It outlines two characters with two very different views of the world. One being the master manipulator and the other a strong willed character who's purpose is the force the devil character to confess his way of control in the minds of the "simpleminded". The book displays such a strong message that only one's with the necessity to control their owns minds should indulge in this wonderfully write book.
When the Devil broke down his main tricks he uses to control the minds of the "Drifters"
They brought the passion of the manuscript as if one was in the room of the meeting.
I suggest this book for any one who wishes to start the journey of business and wish to control their own minds.
Thought provoking, inspiring, I saw myself in his words. I have changed because of it.
Napoleon of course. He was concise, highly prepared, relentless, and always probing for the answer. I was amazed at the questions, and the answers from the
That I can change. I can stop being a drifter even if it is day by day, step by step. And thru these changes I can begin to live my life, with zest, direction and freedom. What a wonderful gift Napoleon has given us. This whole world needs the message of this book.
Only that I have recommended this book to at least 15 of my friends and my biggest wish is that they do the same and the message begins to spread. It is GOOD news and people need to know there is hope.
The narrators were superb. The voices were compelling, especially the Devil. Very very well done and something you could listen to time and time again. Give up that next Starbucks with cookie and just GET this book. It is a marvel.
It was read in a creative way, with different characters.
I liked him, interviewing his dark side.
It is not about the money. It is about how you want to use the money.
I liked that he used Samuel Insull as an example of how not to end up. I've heard that Orwell invented Citizen Kane as mixture of William Randolph Hearst and Samuel Insull.
