This book is so good, I'll listen to it again. The first book of the Frankenstein series was very good. This one is just as good, but the new characters were great. they really made the 5th book exceptional.
I am not much of a reader I enjoy using my imagination audio books help me through long drives and train rides. I enjoy books that have the right person narrating and leave me wanting more.
I like the audiobook verse because I am able to listen to it while I am driving or otherwise occuppied without having to wait till I have time enough to back to the book.
Yes, but not right away, I like time to lapse between.
The other Frankenstein books are very comparable. You don't have to listen/read the other 4 books, but it helps to understand it better.
I'm sure I have, but I never remember the names, his voice was compelling and he made it interesting.
I enjoyed the characters and the humor that was mixed in the story.
The long, drawn out parts of the over all plans of Victor.
It had been 3 years since I listened to I, II and III. I could pick right up with the characters. I get a kick out of Jocko!
The first and second of the series were very good, three was a down hill turn but still okay five was awful. He spent too much describing things that had nothing to do with the story, it was if he didnt have anything interesting to talk about. Volume five was a huge disappointment
The reader did a good job
all of the non monster chase related descriptions of people and events
stick to the story
A complete re-write
Write a coherent story
I would rather have read the book
Almost all of it
There was no coherent story line and characters absolutely unbelievable. Mostly broken story lines and no character development. All the intrigue of the first three books gone and it was as though he had to write enough words to fill a quota of pages to satisfy a publisher. The fourth book was simply a means to get to a fifth book and had no logical ending.
We own every book that Koontz has written either the paper, Kindle or audio versions. This book is without question his worst and it is a shame he did not take the time to write a book that is of the quality of the first three in the series or his masterful genius in Watchers, Odd Thomas and others.
I truly regret that I took the hours out of my life to listen to this book.
I really liked the odd numbered books in this series. The first was probably the best. The characters could be more developed, but that is a small nit pick. I like Jocko and wish we could have seen more of him.
As for the story, it is very engaging and, while not as tightly knit as some novels, it is better than most in this genre. Over all, I really like this series from DK. Some of his books are just not my style. I like the Odd Thomas series and the book One Door Away From Heaven. If you have not read the other books in this series, don't skip them. 2 of the main characters in this book will make absolutely no sense without the background of the earlier books.
I wanted to give this a 3.5, but could not figure out how.. So, 4 it is. It's a fun read.
the story seemed to be lacking in adventure and just fell short of the storylines that engrossed me in books 1 and 2.
