If it were free, I'd suggest they try it. Peter Clines is a great author, but this book has no plot other than "we are fighting zombies". There needs to be something else as well.
Of course not! My dislike just may be from knowing Peter Clines from "14" and "The Fold".Very good characters and plot development in those two. This was a bit boring and you really never learn the characters.
Passable, not believeable, callling it in
Maybe, maybe not
Not as great as Armada, but still a good read.
I actually burned through it was faster than intended because there were spots where you just kept wanting to listen.
ever think boutique if superheroes smashing zombies and wonder who would win...find out! and Ironman like suit would cause damage.. read it and find out
I am a fictional reader. I like strong female characters that's don't require a romance story line.
I am not a fan of the zombie fad of TV shows and movies. this concept seemed interesting but I was hesitant. in glad the book wasn't bloody. the beginning of the book i was worried i couldn't finish it because the opening dialogue was lame. this did seem like the authors first book because there was foul language not to add to the story line but just to have it.
I did like the "then" and "now" storytelling it kept it interesting.
not sure if I would get the next one.
Totally. Friggen. Awesome.
How you discover the zombie apocalypse comes about.
Such a great book. Fantastic story, love the going back and forth between the past and the present. Narrators are great. Adds lots of weight to the story telling.
first off, I'm a big fan of Peter clines. I loved 14 and the fold. I figured I'd give EXheros a chance since I like zombies and super heros. the super hero's in this book I would say are more of a combination of DC comic characters, watchmen, and a vampires...
I really enjoyed and loved the idea behind this book. however, the execution fell just a tad short. at times I felt like I was wondering how does this all flow...? where's the story going...? also, the story seemed to be a little "here and there" at time.
the super hero's... I liked. enough variety to keep things interesting. I personally liked Zap the best.
the zombies aren't anything new... nor are they different from any other zombie story. in fact, these zombies aren't really anything special at all.
by zombies, I mean "Exes"...
there's enough humor to keep me smiling. the story is well enough to keep me wanting to finish it up...
I wish the ending was a little better but this is a series... I'm going to listen to the 2nd book before I make a decision to stop or finish out the series.
overall... if you like zombies and super heros. then this book is good enough to listen to. besides. it's only a 8 hour listen on normal talk speed. which is short in my opinion.
I'm not sure what I was expecting but I just could not get into this. The main character is talking about vomiting up fire, and while I guess some superheros do that I'm not sure it is very entertaining. I just didn't get engrossed in this, which is too bad, I don't mind a good superhero story. It also was odd to have the male narrator narrate and then have the female narrator pitch in. It made the story seem disjointed.
Not my thing I guess.
