I would change the narrator, the narrator and the narrator. He is so bad especially compared to the George Guidall.
Not a chance in hell
Mitch Rapp's next mission should be to kill the narrator.
I wanted to catch up on the Rapp series, so I guess so.
The later books, including the prequels are far superior to this. The reader didn't do Rapp justice. Where was George Guidall for the early books?
No, but American Assassin or Last Man for sure. Find some up-and-comer for the role.
I really can't stand these "fictional President and White House in peril" themes.
the first two (in chronological order) were significantly better than this but i still enjoyed it. more of a junk-food thriller.
Love the gripping story line... well written... keeps you coming back for more.
made the characters come alive.
I read the reveiws, and everyone seems to have locked into George Guidall as the voice of Mitch Rapp. Since I had never listened to any of the other readings, I was not burdened by Guidall's voice being that of Rapp. I thoroughly enjoyed Sullivan's rendition. I don't blame Sullivan for disappointing those who are Guidall fans. Now, when I listen to Guidall reading the Rapp voice, I may be saying that he is not as good as Sullivan. Who knows! This risk of listening to a book, like that of watching a movie of a book...
So thumbs to this novel and the reader.
A different narrator.
More life and expression in the reading.
Tried it because of great reviews for Vince Flynn, especially the Mitch Rapp Series. Have been put off.
No..both have their place...each is excellent..one is not better than the other.
The ending prologue...any more and I would give away the end of the novel.
When Mitch saved Anna Reilly from the Terrorist.
This is a good start to the Mitch Rapp series..this is the 2nd book I have read in the series..I started with Kill Shot the 11th or 12th novel in the series which is a prequel...that seemed to be a better story with more action..as with each good author...the stories get better the more he writes...and I am looking forward to more selections in this series.
I would definitely recommend this to a friend. I really enjoyed the story and I love the characters. I purchased the paperback book for a friend. I am already listening to the next book.
I went through this book quickly and I could not stop listening! It was very fast pace as well as exciting. Love the ending!
This was my first Mitch Rapp book and I actually did not mind Nick Sullivan's narration. He is Mitch Rapp's voice to me. I liked how he narrated the Stanfield, Kennedy, etc.
Mitch Rapp is America's hometown hero!
who keeps Amazon in business
This was the best story I've listened to in a long time. I couldn't stop listening. It made me late for work every day.
Trouble at the White House? Of course I was on the edge of my seat.
I liked his performance but this was the first book I've listened to in this series
90% of the book is fairly interesting and exciting and detailed, then you hit the end and there are huge detail gaps and and serious rush to finish. It was like the author hit his word limit and had to end so voila, it ends and you have to guess as to the details.
The narration is adequate, but is extraordinarily staccato at times, to the point that it detracted from the book.
An obviously male writer with the female protagonist being an unachievable ideal of beauty (except for that lucky 1%), in need of male rescue, a victim over and over, and irrational but convinced by the know it all man. Of course, they fall in love immediately after she comes 3 seconds from being brutally viciously graphically gang raped. Whew.
A decent listen, but other than the lead male, everyone else is a stupid caricature. The main protagonist is Jack Reacheresque and I would be interested in reading more with him.
