Firstly the plot is unrealistic, implausible and simplistic. Second the characters are flat and stereotyped forcing the unfortunate performer to have to put on silly voices to tell them apart. And finally although the book may be new to Audible its really dated - my guess written 25 years ago and as such can't be taken seriously as a contemporary political thriller that uses in its context the unsuccessful attempted World Trade Center bombing, only one Gulf War, no such entity as Homeland Security, and the use of pagers among the elite of law enforcement
The story kept men engaged the whole time. Constantly looked forward to what was around the next corner. Loved the characters. I couldn't believe the same narrator did them all.
What an outstanding book. Mr. Flynn has captured the current American political climate with a thriller that is not hard to believe it could actually happen. Outstanding book.
Spy geeks, folks who like covert operations description.
Too long, this could have been a way shorter book if it was better edited. The description of procedure went on for entirely too long, it puts the listener to sleep.
Narrator did a good creating voices that fit the characters.
not for me
I loved this book. It was well thought out and kept me engaged in the moment the entire time. I didn't want it to end but wanted to know how it would end
Excellent presentation, writing, and story lines. This hits the very issues we are seeing today in power politics. It wasn't about left or right per se but rather about those in power holding on at the expense of the country itself.
The characters are fully developed and lend credence to the story. Great roles here for a movie.
Gripping tale kept me up into the wee hours.
