Reading allows me to travel through time; to visit the world's unique and stunning places. To become somebody I am not... It is glorious.
I keep buying the WMC books because I like the early novels in the series. And, I like the women. If you want a peek into what is happening in the lives of Lindsey and her friends then you will enjoy the book. But if you want an enthralling, gripping story as well as a probe into their personal stories you will be disappointed. The story is not riveting or spellbinding. It isn't gritty or dirty or dark. It is a bit bland and predictable. And it feels like shock-value writing rather than an arresting view of the dark and seedy underworld.
loved the book
the voices seemed a bit odd, but I really hated the music additions to the chapters
I have been reading the books for this series (which I have enjoyed) and this is my first listen. Disappointment is a good description for this book.
The narrator Carolyn McCormick did not help bring the characters to life at all - she didn't have a good range for the number of characters and, actually, she was kind of monotone.
The story line was not up to par.
Perhaps James Patterson should consider retiring, because his books seem to be going downhill.
Having listened to this entire series, this one was good but a little bit flat compared to other novels in the series. The story-line was a bit lacking but overall, it was easy to listen to, especially if you are already familiar with the "women's murder club".
Yes, probably since I like the series overall.
The different layers of the story and solving them in an unexpected way
I think she did a good job with the character voices - but I'm not sure I got anything more from the story having listened to it over reading it.
Yes, good listen
plot kept me interested and anxious to return to the book. love the women's murder club series!
voices fit the characters
I did not really enjoy this book. it wasn't really bad, just not that entertaining.
I have never listened to any other books by Carolyn McCormick
