No this book has not action
Compare ? no if you want a good book get SWARM By B.V Larson Action from start to end .
Just looking for a good book this one was not my cup of tea .
Nothing, not my place.
Good story line but a bit childish.
Mind you I like the book, having listen through the first series. Narration was great, however the characters seems too simple. Its like watch a star trek episode, lots of pops while you are listening to it, but the after taste is kinda flat. I only wish real life people were this comical.
I am an Australian woman who enjoys reading many different styles of books, from history to sci fi and mystery to poetry.
Another of the Black Jack Geary book. Another rollicking ride in space. The characters remain the same and now the enemy is a new one. It's a fun listen. Not great literature and it won't stretch the old grey matter too much but it is bloody good fun.
My heart belongs to fantasy and sci-fi! Throw in some thriller/suspense, the occasional crime or romance or classics.
I have listened to the original lost fleet series time and time again. This follow up series picks up right where it left off and sets out to answer those questions you had at the end of the last series. He weaves a very personal story into theses believable epic space battles and you are hugely emotionally invested in theses characters through all his books. That is a mark of great story telling. Looking forward to many more to come!
Yes. The story flowed and the reader did a great job.
Just the right amount of politics and political intrigue between battles.
Marines landing on the asteroid prison.
What out for the Hell Lance.

If you like this series, you might consider the Honor Harrington series.
I listened to the original Lost Fleet series, and enjoyed it.
I made one dreadful mistake. I've been watching a lot of Futurama lately, and now I find myself substituting in Futurama voices for characters in the Lost Fleet series. It's waaaay to easy to hear Zapp Brannigan's voice for Black Jack Geary, then hearing Leela, Fry, the Professor, Bender and Amy as other characters. I know... that was awful of me to do that.
" I have my mind... & a mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." -T.L.
The lost fleet series was great, just enough books to ensure it was not too drawn out. The politics & space combat is great & the narrator is very good as well. The only complaint I would have is that there is not enough marine/ground combat... This extension of the series is pretty good compared to the lost fleet & def. gets me interested in how this plays out.
I suggest reading the lost fleet series first, that is a very good series of books with an interesting main character (frozen almost a hundred years), & how war can create malcontent & other issues regarding treatment of prisoners, politics, etc... Great extension of the book though
The story continues from The Lost Fleet, but isn't the same. It never lost my interest.
I would never have picked this book for myself, I got it for my husband to listen to. We ended up listening to The Lost Fleet series together and then we wanted more... I wanted more. This is a really great series.
who docent love a good story especially if its about aliens or monsters or Gods.
its part of a whole bunch of books that keep you wanting to know whats next.
i like fact that its so complete at points and obvious at others
the lost fleet
see if the director from the hobbit can make these books into 3 movies.
Fun, Engaging, Exciting
Campbell does a great job of reuniting all the characters from the previous series while introducing new conflicts and characters into the fold.
I love the Jack Campbell introductions as they give brief insights into the series. Rummel's performance was top notch as always and I am constantly amazed at how he finds new voices for newly introduced characters and his consistency with voices he created for existing characters.
