A great depiction of Rob Lowe's star-crossed life, lots of funny and very detailed anecdotes with other famous folks. I especially enjoyed his voice imitations of some of his famous acquaintances.
Children's Librarian in Boulder, CO.
I loved that Rob Lowe narrated his book. Listening to these stories told by someone else's voice wouldn't work. He was funny and touching and not over the top. I have to admit, I was worried that it wouldn't be a good listen - but it really felt like I'd just sat down to coffee with Rob Lowe and he was telling me stories about his life.
Rob Lowe has had an amazing life. He doesn't just tell the story, he has a depth of philosophical yet funny and poignant way of looking at the world and Hollywood. I found myself laughing out loud and gasping at his book.
Probably when he talks about his "Outsiders" experience. And the Princess of Monaco. Also ALL of his impressions are great. He captures every voice perfectly.
YES. And I almost did.
I think this book is worth listening to. Rob is an excellent reader with a soothing voice that makes you feel you are his friend. There is an intimacy here that as a listener I did not want it to end.
Rob, of course
love that it was him reading it, made it more authentic
Think he is an incrediblely honest, human being. We all have flaws and skeletins in our closets. The key theme I felt during this is a better understanding what he went through and that their is much more to the story than what the media portrays. HE was very candid and I could see how he could have got caught up in things as he did. He is human like everyone else, real and interesting, has something, a gift to share!
SECOND BEST AUTOBIOGRAPHY
I LOVE HOW MUCH HE LOVES HIMSELF AND HIS WIFE.
OH MY GOD Rob in rehab because it helps me know my next step. So I really thought I was getting the Robert Downeyt Jr. story. So happy with what I got. I have both books and refered to many.
Yes and no because there is no way I have 9.5 hours

best wife ever. Rob..I love the way you love your family. That was what brought tears to my eyes. Thanks for opening up my eyes to true love.
I have a lot of movies/ series to watch!
if you loved the 80s pop culture, you will love to here from lowe's life back then.
his story about getting the outsiders job and getting cut out of the movie so much. I really felt sorry about that. I wish they would release all the cut scenes on dvd.
from all about last night
One of my favorites!
I suppose it's like other memoirs of people from my generation.
Well, he is the main character.
I didn't want it to end.
I do hope he writes more. He has a way of making the reader feel like he's written it just for you.
Rob Lowe is a terrific story teller, and he has stories to tell! This is a must read for anyone who grew up in the 70s and 80s.
I especially like that while it is a memoir, it is NOT a tell-all, rather a witness to history.
He gives you enough, but he is not a cad, or too much info. It was just right!
His side of the stories!
He is such a great voice, and is great at imitation of others around him..
The story of his true life growing up!
It was a great time to here his side of all the publicity !
