I just couldn't get into this book and never finished it. I found the narrator's voice to be very scripted -- to the point of being annoying. Listing to her voice was difficult so I eventually gave up. Won't listen to her again.
Terrific book, but not surprising considering it is Ms. Roberts! Very vivid and heart-stopping! I was sorry when it was finished. Great narration by Ms. Lowman too!
This is one of the best that Nora Roberts has ever wrote. And I have read them all.
Its romantic, exciting, and a book you can't put down. They should make a movie out
of it. But, most of all she makes you think your right there with them fighting the fires
you can feel the heat, she makes it so real. Well done Nora Roberts.
My husband and I both enjoyed this book. Having family involved in the timber industry and understanding the power that fire holds was made even clearer with the descriptions of being inside the fire lines.
I loved this book as I do all by Nora Roberts. In this winding tale you'll get caught up in the characters and the story. I love that I can get lost in the story.. I don't have to think too hard ...just enjoy!
Best book she has ever written! I mean it! The characters in this novel made the book for me! I wanna be Rowan! She is tough, smart, funny, strong, and can take on any man! And who wouldn't fall for the hero Gull? Makes you want to go fight some fire!
I really enjoyed the story and also learned a lot about fire jumping. The story has a great combination of action, mystery and a bit of romance. The narrator did a fantastic job. Definitely worth a credit.
A true Nora Roberts. Suspense and romance and a great story. Very enjoyable.
I really wanted to rate this 3 ?? stars ??? the book was entertaining but not my all time favorite Roberts books. The story is about smoke jumpers in Missoula. It centers on 1 woman in the group, Rowan Tripp and her relationship with the hot rookie, Gulliver. There are times I found the female characters rather crass but I guess they needed to be since the jumped out of planes to put fires out. Like many of Roberts books .. there is lot of hot romance and some suspense. For me the mystery person was quite obvious.
I thought Rebecca Lowman did a good job narrating the book but at time could not distinguish 1 character from another ??? especially the male characters
