This is one of the books you really don't need to have read the others in the series to get right into it. Jillian and Colin are new characters that have never been mentioned much in the Virgin River Series. The story about Jack and Denny is also emotional and so sweet. You probably figure out the ending all through this book, but its one that I couldn't stop listening too. It had several twists and turns with the relationships. Robyn Carr had me laughing out loud several times at how funny Jillian and Colin were with their chemistry between each other but nothing had happened yet. Their romance comes together and it had me smiling out loud so to speak the whole time. Get ready for Tears and Hankys at the end. LOVED IT!! Needless to say Therese Plummer makes this book. She is so good at all the characters and voices. I couldn't listen to a Robyn Carr book without her.
Love the Virgin River series. You become more a part of the community with every book. Ms. Plummer us a stellar narrator!!!! There is no choosing a fave in "Virgin River"... They are all great books!!
Good Books Don't Promote Violence
While I have enjoyed all the books in this series, Wild Man Creek is probably my favorite since Virgin River. To an avid gardener, this story is a dream come true! The main character leaves the cut throat corporate world, starts an organic produce farm in a small town and meets an attractive man. Love all the "town" characters, who elevate these books from sappy love stories to human dramas. Only drawback - some of the sex scenes border on soft porn; detracts from great story line.
I liked them both so it is hard to say which was best.
It was done very well just like all Virgin River Series is always a good read
Made me laugh and not want to put it down...I also cried in parts....All good stuff
Be sure to get this in audio as it is a great story
I love witty, fast-paced books that keep you turning the page.
This was such a wonderful listen. Since I don't like books that dwell on the tragedy that sets up the inevitable happy ending, I'd score this one a perfect 10 for giving you enough background to understand where they were coming from, but not so much that it dragged out. The book just kept getting better from there, making me laugh, making me cry and making me fall in love with the characters. Jillian and Collin had wonderful real-life qualities and quirks, and a chemistry that made Robyn Carr's trademark love scenes steam up your glasses. Although I'm not a gardener, I greatly enjoyed hearing about all the intricacies of ... whoops, that would be a spoiler. Let me just say that her research paints a vivid backdrop for the love story. Throw in the other sub-plots with Denny and her sister, and you've got a winner. Can't wait to start the next book in the morning!
I am a 43 year old mother of 4, I have a great husband and I am a nurse. I love to spend time with my family and ride atv's. Romance and humerous books are my favorite and I am currently listening to a lot of amish romance books.
Enjoyable, interesting and hard to put down!
The whole book is great. You can't go wrong with any book in the Virgin River series.
All of them....all the characters from these books seem like they are part of my family!
A love story you won't soon forget!!!!
I have loved the whole series of Virgin River books so far and always can't wait to listen to more!!!!
Love, dispare and fulfillment.
All (only 6) of the Virgin River Series that I have read have the same story line. Man meets women, one or both have issues but they find love and have bumps along the way. Just enough issues and love to keep you listening.
Yes. She is great!
Mad me laugh, made me cry.
Have read the majority of the Virgin River Series. This particular book held my interest as I am going through a life-changing transition as the result of an accident just like one of the characters. I enjoyed the gardening trend in the story. All the characters are always so likeable. Reading is one of the few interests I can enjoy right now and these books take me away--like the old commercial--"Calgon, take me away". (Showing my age, I know) Now, onto the next one...
