I liked this book; a little bit of everything hilarity, suspense, and romance. I could not get into the homosexual/bisexual parts with Blalock, Saxton, or Quin otherwise, it was pretty good.
Just when I thought the Phury got lost in his own book, I see now he had ample time. This installment is just a set up for transiting to future books. It raised so many more questions than answers, and some of them I lack the interest in knowing. As always the excellent narrator definitely saved this big bowl of 'chuop suhey'.
The author should consider doing a word count and editing any word that appears over 500 times. That would cut the F-bomb in half. Not that I'm opposed to swearing, but it is SO thick that it takes the place of story and character in places.
Fine and predictable.
The female lead, Payne. However none of the characters was very developed.
Sadly, no reaction. A good theme and plot outline poorly executed.
Good to sleep to.
I am more addicted to the men in this series than in the actual story. What made this book tolerable was Vishous. I didn't really care for Payne or Jane. The plot was flat and boring. There is not no character development. Vishous however was wonderful.
More about the couple who the story was about only able to make it threw 1 of the books and with that I hoped it would get better.
This book is not what I expected
anger disappointment. I will not be wasting any more of my valuable time with her books.
I actually liked this book we had a good intro to both the main characters. They are both new to the Brotherhood. Their relationship was teasing and tempting and forbidden. I would have liked to see more interaction between Payne and Vishous after all she did kill their father because of what he did to V. The V/Jane/Butch interaction was groundbreaking. We have to do something with our poor Quinn and Blay situation their hearts are breaking. The action between Xcor and Payne and the Band of Bastards is done well, it reminds us on how they all treat the Chosens and even if Payne is a warrior she is still a Chosen and respected by males of their kind. Manny being added is great Jane needs a friend and the BDB certainly can use another doctor.
I really enjoyed the other books, but this one just didn't measure up. Characters were introduced, but I asked myself why? Maybe for a later book, but seriously this book was just all over the place. Didn't really like it that much.
The book was too sporadic.
Steady, consistent, strong
I only listened to this book so I could continue the series. if I could have skipped it, and known I'd be fine with the series I would have. Disappointed.
Not sure where the push to finish this installment came from, but that's what seems to have happen. There was no chemistry develop between Payne and Manny. What's worse is the tough Payne warrior woman from the past book basically ends up being a pansy. This book has disappointed all over it. I am big BDB fan and wished I had bought the entire series from audible, just to be able to write reviews about the BDB books that proceed this one. A MUST READ are the proceeding BDB books. Z and Bella's story one the most intense love stories I have ever read or listen to. I dare anyone not to cry or laugh. JohnMatthew and Zhec;s romance is built to perfection over the course of several books into a create climax in LOVER MINE. So what happen in this book is a mystery. The potential to build something with Payne and Manny should have started 1 or 2 books before this, so at least you feel the character connection. I can only say if you want to catch up on the other BDB then you will have to suffer through this disappointment as I did. JR does introduce some new villains so that is a plus. AND if you want an update on Vsexual, then there is that. It would have been cool to have the daughter of the bloodletter and the chosen to be one of the baddest female vamps. Knowing what she went through it would have been understandable for Payne to have some serious issues.
What a waste. The Payne character is worth developing as a female warrior but please lose Manny his charecter was weak and boring. JR Ward may have run out on this series!
