A solid follow up to book 1 that continues to build and move this series forward. Excellent story with some new and interesting characters. A lot of fun to listen too with another perfect performance by Oliver Wyman.
Yes it is a long and fun book I could listen to it over and over again
Absolutley he was great!
Tell us about yourself!
I do not usually purchase Sci-Fi/Fantasy books (I am a myserty & thriller person) but I took a chance on this one and I was so happy I did. Action and comedy combined together so well. LIstening at work I found myself laughing out loud one minute and wincing at the violence the next. Loved it!!!
Oliver Wymans timing and just the right amount of sarcasim at the right moment made it even better. Great job

If you do cliches, make them over the top and use them to your full advantage. That is what Larry Correia does, and in spades. Take what is stereotypical of the zombie/vampire genre and work it into a book that is full of action and despair, and let the audience enjoy it to its fullest. There was hardly anything new or refreshing to the story or the characters, but LC made it work and work well none the less. A very enjoyable book, I would recommend it to any fan of the pulp action and horror genre.
I bought this book based on the reviews and number of stars. I kept coming back to it over and over, month after month, but I just wasn't sure so I kept choosing other books. I wish I'd bought it ages ago because it was exciting, well-written and kept me listening long after I should have been asleep.
I enjoyed the unique story. With the market being flooded with urban fantasy, eveyone is writing werewolf and vampire books, and while many are great reads, this series took the theme in a completely different direction and I loved it!
I've never heard an Oliver Wyman narration before, but he's wonderful and did a fantastic job.
This book made me laugh hysterically, cry in outrage and cheer out loud!
I've now listened to the entire series available on Audible and hope there will be more.
brilliant! totally entertaining. great story. builds neatly from the first volume, in fact is even better. narration is great (except for the British accent, Birmingham via London with a bit of Essex thrown in!). Otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable listen. eager for the next in the series.
I usually expect sequels to be less impressive than the original. This is not the case with "Vendetta" which is as equally good as the original. Fun story if you like a novel that is full of action, humor and horror. The narration by Mr. Wyman is superb and I hope he continues as narrator as the Monster Hunter series continues. Highly recommended.
A refreshing new twist on vampires, elve's, and other mythical beings blended blended skillfully with with modern battle, mercenary companies, and secretive government agencies with loads of action, quirky characters and a decent storyline that kept me listening.....i purchase the second book in the series before this one ended.
We all look for something different in a book or series, i have a feeling this one will be popular with many!!
1*=I didn't like it..... 2*=It was OK...... 3*=It was good but I will never read it again.......... 4*=Maybe I will read it again in the future.............. 5*=I will definitely read it again(maybe more than once)
The message was sent across space and time:
To all minions of the Overlord. Find and utterly destroy
the human Hunter known as Owen Zastava Pitt.
Many questions are answered: How ? Why?
How julie's mother was turned?
How julie's father learned the way to open the portal?
Why agent Franks so tough?
What Agent Myers has against MHI?
How Owen's father knows about supernatural?
All of this questions will be answered and many more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no sophomore slump here! vendetta brings back all of your favorite monster hunters from mhi to face off against a mysterious necromancer even master vampire susan shaklefield is afraid of.
owen, of course, keeps getting himself in trouble b/c of his big mouth. he's a mix of mike talbot (zombie fallout) and joe ledger. owen's a loveable, self-deprecating dolt that knows how to kick some serious a$$. although, him getting his a$$ kicked is still pretty regular.
owen's journey as the prophesized one takes an interesting turn as his family is dragged into the fight. so what does the bulls eye on his forehead get him? franks as a babysitter. franks is a great character even though he works for the gov't's monster control board. franks' reveal is a great twist. yup, i was wrong.
past events mentioned in the first book are brought to life as what has happened in the past affects what mhi is going through now. in particular, what really happened that night years ago when ray opened the portal during the big shacklefield party. vendetta answers a lot of questions left from mhi.
larry correia does a great job of coming up with new types of monsters and villains. man sure does his research! another reviewer stated that correia's villains are like matryoshka dolls- there's always a bigger baddie behind the current baddie. i don't see it that way. i see it as competing powerful factions, each vying for their opportunity to destroy the world. NOTE: you may not understand this until the end of the book.
speaking of the end, what a great ending. correia's battle scenes are epic and always have consequences. even though, i didn't enjoy vendetta as much as the first, the ending definitely made up for it. think lotr return of the king.
