NONE IT HAS ITS OWN STYLE
I CAN'T IMAGINE ANYONE DOING A BETTER JOB. HIS VOICES ARE VERY IMAGINATIVE ESPECIALLY OF THE MONSTERS
SOMETIMES LAUGH, SOMETIMES CRINGE
PLAN TO LISTEN TO THE ENTIRE SERIES
This book just kept right on going from the first. Just as entertaining and the reader really fits the characters. Great book.
I like the story line but the author is a bit of a windbag and tends to drag a lot of the fight scenes on forever. Narrator does a decent job but reads slowly, this book could easily have been a 17 hour audio book if the narrator spoke at a normal rate.
Sure. It's a fun book that's doesn't take much attention to listen too.
It was a little over the top at times. I know it's fantasy, but still.....
I'm a teacher, and it's my policy to NOT give any 100%s for work done by anyone especially me. ( I figure there's always room for improvement.) This series is entertaining, just think about the scene as in an alternate reality. If you're interested about more of my thinking, read my review of "Monster Hunters International". Thank you.
By all rights, this is not a book I should enjoy. It's basically chaos and mayhem, one outrageous brawl after another. But the core story is fascinating and the narrator is absolutely terrific. You just get sucked right in to the entire experience. Definitely McDonalds for the brain, but totally enjoyable!
I listen to audio books while I work and this one really kept me entertained. No down time.
I've always been a monster story fan so this was right up my alley and even after already reading the first books I didn't get bored.
Oliver Wyman read the story in a way where even if I wasn't fully concentrated on it 100% of the time I always knew who was talking because of his ability to adapt his voice and accent to the character as needed.
I was always happy to get to work partially because I wanted to get back to the story.
If you like Die Hard movies like me, this is for you.
I read the Iron Druid chronicles before and this is a good match for it, even if I prefered the world of the Iron Druid.
It is an acquired taste. Correia writes with pretty gratuitous violence, but it is done in a very light-hearted and comic fashion which makes the 'blood-and-guts' action very palatable. I would not suggest seeing a movie based on this unless you really love horror.
The reader really gives the characters personality as his accents and intonations are excellent in the way they are used.
Do not see this movie!
