"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure." -Nelson Mandela
There is nothing to change about this book. Tina Fey told the story of her life from a comical perspective.
When Fey told the story about the gay guy in college who I believe she secretly had a crush on. Just the way she tells her stories with so much sarcasm and wit will keep anyone laughing for days.
I have not listened to any of her other performances but I have watched her on Saturday Live.
Of course it needs a follow up book. I would love to hear more about her life story, especially if she tells it from a comical standpoint.

Laughter is the language of the soul. -Pablo Neruda
For me, not being so big on reading, i must say that Tina Fey has definitely made my first audiobook experience a quite delightful one. I am always on the go and extremely particular when it comes to EVERYTHING, especially books! I lose interest immediately if I don't feel a personal connection within the first few chapters and Bossypants captured my full attention from the start.
Tina Fey gave her listeners the opportunity to not only showcase her brilliant humor but she let us all in to her life. She's a regular girl, with dreams and aspirations just like the rest of us and she unveiled the obstacles it took for her to get to where she is now. It's truly inspiring!
I would recommend this book a million times! Bossypants is a great listen with a greater lesson on how to be you no matter how impossible the circumstances may seem. Anyone can be successful if they do what they love everyday.
Listening to the humorous struggles of growing up.
Stories around teenage experiences.
Candor around what probably were painful experiences, but using humor to diffuse the situation.
The struggles as a up-and-coming professional comedian in a male-centered industry.
Anything is Possible....
Yes- A lot of the humor was female based and it was interesting to hear about Tina's perspective on a lot of feminist based topics I wasn't aware about. Since I am male, it was also funny to hear her make fun of different aspects of American culture. She does an awesome job with her narration delivery in a very sarcastic manner.
What I liked best about the story was the amount of random stories she brings up regarding American culture and things most woman encounter while growing up. Believe me when I say that she doesn't mind crossing that line in order to make you laugh.
I believe she did an excellent job in demonstrating her sassy and witty humor throughout her entire performance in this audio book. I also enjoyed the amount of voice impersonations she does, those impersonations include everything from northeast male accents to Sarah Palin.
This book is too sarcastic and humorous to move you in a serious emotion sense. However, my cheeks and stomach were severely moved at various times throughout the audio book due to laughing so hard at her jokes and impersonations.
If you don't mind crude humor that is nonstop funny, yet inappropriate to speak about in public, then this is the right book for you.
Never estimate the power of will.
Her talking about Don Fey.
The feel of New York.
Tina Fey is an inspiration.
Say something about yourself!
I'm not sure if I would read every single chapter again but I would definitely go back and listen to specific stories she told. The reason for this is simple some stories were more interesting and funny then others.
I was a fan of 30 Rock for a while. I really enjoyed hearing Tina Fey's wit and humor used to narrate her "life story". The narration is really what sold this book for me. I can't imagine listening to some of these stories by anyone who does not have Tina Fey's wit and sarcasm. That being said I'm not sure if I would have enjoyed the book if it had not been narrated by Tina Fey.
If you are a fan of Tina Fey or at least a fan of anything she has been in you will enjoy this audiobook. This was my first audiobook off of audible.com and I would highly recommend it to anyone just getting started. Listening to a familiar narrator who has worked on other things I enjoyed definitely helped me to ease into the audiobook.
- Tina Fey is so colorful with her story telling . Hearing her narrate it made her life story pop.
- When she vaguely told the story of her scar , I've never noticed that she had one to begin with and how she overcame her imperfection.

Now I know why Tina Fey was able to create so many amusing and wacky character's in her hit show 30 Rock - she's known some interesting characters her whole life. From her flat footed dad, to the guy who constantly repeated his life story and always ended it with a reminder to wear a helmet, to the two lesbians in their 20's who Tina was best friends with in High School, Tina Fey has known it all and seen it all. And all these zany people and strange life experiences have made her who she is: a ridiculously talented and funny women (with flat feet.)
Listening to Bossy Pants was awesome because you get to hear Tina Fey retell her book as if it were a fond memory or a secret journal entry. And as a bonus you also get to hear the hilarious sketch she did with Amy Poehler on SNL (the one where Tina masterfully cloned Sarah Palin and Amy nailed the role of Hillary Clinton). To this day that sketch will make you laugh out loud in public as you listen to Bossy Pants on the bus and receive funny stares from the people around you.
But you won't care because like Tina Fey proudly declares - and no I'm not referring to the time when as a kid she yells "I am the boss! I am the boss!" - but to the moments throughout the book where she talks about what she thinks about her body image, her haters, the topic of plastic surgery and even photoshop: you just won't care in the end.
Tina brilliantly conveys the message that you shouldn't feel awkward, embarrassed, or ashamed of being you! So go ahead and own it like a boss as you strive to accomplish something as small as a trip to the beach without feeling self-conscious or large as your life goals.
none can compare
her delivery is absolutely hysterical
I've always enjoyed her humor.
but this insight into her personal life is just priceless.
and recommended it to many friends
Hearing Tina's voice makes the words on the page jump to life while she accentuates and emphasizes in ways only Tina can. If you are a Tina Fey fan you will love to listen to her, and the stories contained within this book. If you are not a Tina Few fan, hopefully this book will introduce you to her in a new way. She is kind, funny, smart, and talented.
