A funny and surprisingly human account of life as Tina Fey sees it, narrated by, who else but Tina Fey herself. Wonderfully enjoyable five and half hours.
I stopped halfway through this one, I really honestly thought it would be much better given the fact I love Tina's writing on 30 Rock and others, but after listening through some 15 or 16 chapters I just got fed up with the huge amount of sarcasm.
It does provide a few funny moments, and it might even get better towards the end if you stick with it, but I didn't.
This is one of the funniest books i have listened to. Tina Fey reads it herself and she is hilarious. I love her on Saturday Night Live, and 30 Rock. This is a contiuation of her great brand of humor. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a great laugh!
Tina brings her warm hilariously funny vocal style to this audio book. Reading it just wouldn't be the same. Especially the chapter on Don Fey!
In this compelling audio book, the secrets to living the life you've always wanted are made available to you. Listen, enjoy and change your life!
The only good thing about the book is that it was relatively short. I don't think I could stand another minute of it. I might of smiled once.
This is one of the most entertaining books I have listened to in a long time. I listened to it twice, back to back. I rarely re-read books, and never again so soon. It's creative, intelligent humor. It includes social commentary (e.g., about gender disparities in comedy), but without being preachy. Overall, loved it.
I am now a Tina Fey fan. I like her narration,
A chick book for sure, but I enjoyed as well.
I was looking forward to this book because I love 30 Rock but I was kind of disappointed by it overall. I thought Tina Fey did an all right job of relaying her story but I felt the book had too much of an agenda. I expected a funny account of her life and she did tell a few funny stories but the general tone of the book seemed on the negative side to me. If you are looking for a book about Tina Fey's life with a few funny stories incorporated then this book is just fine. If you are looking for a really funny book written by a very funny comedian then check out the Michael McIntyre book Life and Laughing. Even if you aren't familiar with him as a comedian the book is hilarious and he does a very good job narrating.
I listened to this book when traveling abroad. It was seriously hard not to laugh out loud when listening to this book in public on the train or in a plane. Ok, I don't think I was always successful but the Japanese are so polite. I especially loved the telling of her family "Celebrating the birth of Christ",... "traveling arduously back to the place of your birth to be counted." I make the same I-80 trek across PA but in reveres for the holidays. I replayed that bit several times!
Tina's timing and style has always made me laugh. This book was no different. I enjoyed hearing the back story to the Sarah Palin skits on SNL. I hope Tina keeps doing political humor because it's funny not because it makes a political point.
I gifted this book to a friend and with the holidays coming I plan to gift a few more. Does it come in a less quality paperback (or mp3) version for acquaintances? Just kidding, Tina deserves full price.
