Avid reader turned listener.
When reading some reviews on Amazon regarding this title, some readers expressed disappointment. To them I say "Get the Audiobook". If you are a Tina Fey fan, you will enjoy this book. She is quite hilarious in her narration and it makes me look at 30 Rock a little differently.
Hilarious! I laughed out loud every 5 minutes at least! There were times that I had trouble hearing her (she would mumble for effect), but that mainly added to the hilarity
Audiobooks Make Weed Wacking a Pleasure
Tina Fey tries to get a joke into every sentence, and tries very hard to funny. Pleasurable audiobook with a clever light-hearted self-deprecating style. No, I don't watch or enjoy Saturday Night Live or 30 Rock, but nevertheless enjoyed the stories behind the shows.
I have been a little down lately....and knew I needed to snap out of it. I don't have or watch television and I've only heard of Tina Fey from people at work saying how funny she is. I decided to read the book....WOW! She is hilarious! I've recommended this to several friends, although I'm curious how my 'more conservative' friends will take this....hopefully, for the fun it was meant to be! This was just what I needed! Thanks Tina!!!
I barely knew who Tina Fey was, just knew she spoofed Sarah Palin. This book has funny, funny stories from growing up, being on SNL, being a mom, and her production of 30 Rock-which I had not seen. I laughed out loud so many times!
PS Now I am catching up on 30 Rock---what a funny show!
Disgusting...thought I could listen to this with my grandson as another reviewer suggested. What a huge disappointment! Profane rantings of an egomaniac...probably what is required in today's SNL industry...or television in general. Would love to find books from women who are the opposite of this author.
Tina Fey kept me sane through a grueling 20 mile run all by my lonesome. I will always admire her for that. First of all, she is a fantastic narrator. She brings you into her stories, paints a vivid picture with her voice and tone. But it's the writing that kept me alert, laughing and smiling for four hours. She is SMART. Smart and funny and is delightful as all get out. One question audible.com--where is the pdf? She referred to it throughout the book but it didn't come through in the download. Am I missing something?
I enjoyed listening to this book. It was entertaining, informative and semi-insightful. I did, however, think her choice of using some of the more vulgar words was a poor one as they added nothing to the book, yet detracted in many ways. When women use words as she did, it demeans all of us.
Tina Fey can certainly tell a story. I can honestly say that I like her much better now, as an actress/comedian now that I have listened to her book.
If you want something light, funny and interesting, this book is worth your time. There's definitely a few ideas in there that stuck with me. Tina Fey's pretty awesome.
