I bought this book as I was going to make a car trip of about 7 hours.
This book certainly kept me entertained. There are funny parts, some serious one, and also anecdotes from Tina Fey's SNL life.
Time flew by with it during the trip.
Tina Fey is hilarious! Her comedic delivery is perfect and the material is relate-able.
The only thing I cannot understand is, how can such a beautiful woman have so many insecurities? It was shocking to hear that from her....
If you like Tina Fey, this is a must! Very funny, entertaining, and fast paced story. I couldn't put it down. Tina Fey as herself makes the story even more likable.
Say something about yourself!
This book was fun to listen to. I felt like a good friend was telling me about parts of her life.
I was entertained the entire time, and feel as though I have a little more insight into the business/life of acting and comedy.
I always look for the author to be the narrator for books like autobiographies so that you know you're getting all the nuances in the storytelling. Tina Fey does not disappoint when it comes to conveying all the little extra emotions in her stories. But now and then she talks much to quiet in her short, one-sentence sidebars. Even after cranking up the volume, they get muffled and incoherent. It's too bad, since the ones I COULD hear were often quite funny. Overall, a short read that's worth quite a few laughs. Tina is one heckuva performer/writer and it was interesting to hear some of the backstories before her SNL breakout.
The audio book is excellent... very funny. It is much better than the sample, actually.
If Tina Fey can't make this absolutely hysterical, no one can. It was enjoyable enough, but I expected way more. She was holding back a bit, and over doing other bits.
