How could you not love this woman? She's super smart, she's sassy, and she's hilarious. This book was very enjoyable. She tells funny stories about her life and gives advice for women (people in general) that would like to get into media and entertainment... actually, she gives great career advice in general.
Best line “Some people say, “Never let them see you cry.” I say, if you’re so mad you could just cry, then cry. It terrifies everyone.”
She's very expressive!
i;ve got this book as a gift from my boyfriend who i must add is a huge fan of Tina Fey... i knew she was on SNL and 30th rock but mmmmmm i wasnt that much of a follower by the time i started listening to this...
and then it happen¡... i coudnt put it down!.. and the fact that is her the one telling you its amazing, the book is great, and although im still catching up with 30th Rock i became a total fan of her!... she;s quite a bitch (in the good way) and i admire her!...
the audiobook is way easy to listen, and she not only there in a studio reading her own words like other authors are.. she;s living it and thats a plus!..
I'm an avid reader who now listens to books on tape. I'm a bit late to the game but enjoying the hands free reading.
What a wonderful way to spend 7 hours (or however long it was). Tina Fey wrote an amazing book, read with her personality and made it my best listen from Audible.com. I laughed and stayed with her the entire time. I couldn't drift away or I'd miss something good. I even had to rewind a few times to be sure I didn't mishear something. Incredible book worth listening to again and again.
I listened to this book during my train rides to and from work, and more than once laughed out loud in spite of my best efforts to contain myself. Tina Fey is so funny, and this book is pretty awesome. It was great to get some insights into her career and success. Highly recommend!
I have been a "sidelines" fan of Tina Fey - not knowing much about her and only really seeing her occasionally on SNL but knowing she was really funny. I could not stop listening to this book! Not only is it hilarious, but, being narrated by Tina Fey made it even better. This is a MUST listen!
Mostly. Well, generally speaking. Seriously, I enjoyed this one. Tina is adorable, and her wit is fresh and charming.
Love the sarcastic humour that just never seems to end.
Great to hear the background of SNL and 30 Rock.
Having Tina Fey narrate the book is the only way this book could have been delivered.
I'm a professional painter and love ennobling, enlightening literature
It's a slight book; well done. Not fair to compare it to something like the Story of Philosophy.
Tina Fey is tremendously likable
no, other than on TV
It's a book you CAN listen to in one sitting; short.
Listening to this book is like sitting in a cafe with Tina, having some coffee together, and just chatting about life.
Say something about yourself!
I enjoyed both the audiobook and the print version of this book; however, there are added bonuses to hearing Tina Fey read this book. She is not only a fantastic writer, but a talented actress who is a great joy to listen to. On the other hand, the printed book has pictures that go along with certain chapters that I was unable to find for the audiobook --she would say, "Check the PDF," but I didn't know how to access that.
I am currently on a female-comedian-auto-bio kick, so I would compare this book to Mindy Kaling's, "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?" and Rachel Dratch's "Girl Walks Into a Bar." Of the three, "Bossypants" is my obvious favorite.
I have always like Tina Fey starting from Mean Girls, so I thought this may be just as good or better which it was.
The main character since it is an autobiography because she is funny and she speaks freely in the audiobook about how she was on Saturday Night Live a funny sitcom where the people on there act out other celebrities in various situations.
No I have not other than this here audiobook I have not ever.
Yes I like to relax at times and read and I thought to myself why not listen to a book instead!
