Yes. To stop swearing.
Cursing is not attractive at all.
There is too much cursing for my taste.
Yes! I love Tina Fey and hearing her perform her own book was a treat.
Of course. But I ended up using the book as a reward for doing tasks I dislike. I let myself listen to the book while I folded and put away laundry and in the grocery store.
Tina Fey - hands down.
Loved the story about her climbing the mountain with the boy she lusted after - only to be horribly shot down.
Tina and her husband have a very sweet - and funny - relationship. It's very nice to listen to the stories and banter between the two.
Very good listen - short and sweet! Great way to get into audiobooks.
I would listen again and again, but each time trying to get a new person to listen with me. That way I look smart for picking such a good book. She is the most talented thing to come out of Saturday Night Live in 20 years. My wife and I laughed out loud looking like idiots driving through traffic. When my daughter gets a little older I will buy her the book and when she wants to, and technology hasn't rendered our ears useless, I will play it for her. No, buy her a copy. Don't just lend it out suggest others buy it. Tina deserves to be rewarded for her efforts.
I would have to say the Toothy nob job line.
You are listening the exact way it was intended to be heard. Sometimes punctuation falls short.
The part where she spoke of her father moved me. She is liberal ,but see that the old ways shouldn't just be tossed out just because some hippie douche is on TV
Buy several copies. Give Audible gift cards, if they have them. This was my first venture into Audible. I was very pleased with my experience so far. P.S. Make sure to download the entire book before a big trip. Get near a wifi source.
Tina is smart, funny and REAL. Her delivery is hilarious and unpredictable. You're listening along to one of her stories and she slips in a zinger that catches you off guard. (Do not drink liquids while listening). Lots of laugh out loud moments and a great break from the usual audiobook. She makes her point on so many things with a dose of anxiety and comedy; two things rather close to my heart. Loved it!
Frankly “Bossypants” was as disappointment for me. Tina Fey is obviously smart, insightful, and witty but, a little Tina Fey humor goes a long way. By the end of the audio book (over five hours) the humor struck me as strident, caustic and snarky. This is, of course, a matter of opinion and mine may be in the minority. For me a biography or memoir should reveal something about the person that is not evident in their work or public life and this was the true disappointment for me. By the end of a memoir, I want to know the person better; do I like them or dislike them; admire them; envy them; understand them. This book gives a caricature of Tina Fey; aspect of her life and career seemed distorted and exaggerated to serve the humor in the book. In the end, I didn’t know anything significant about the author that couldn’t be gleaned from the internet or watching her on TV. If you are looking for a funny book and you are a Tina Fey fan, then this book is for you. Also, Tina Fey does a fine job in narrating her work. If you are looking for a “real” biography or memoir, then you may be disappointed, as I was.
Very very funny :-)
Loved the story on baby and breast feeding, so totally agree with Fey ...
Yes, I would recommend this book to a friend, if I had any.
I like Tina Fey. After listening to this book, I feel like she is my new best friend. She is smart, funny, and very human. She is now my role model, even though I think she's younger than me.
I promise not to be a stalker.
I did not listen to this book all in one sitting. I was busy packing to move to a new house. It was like having a friend keeping me company. I was glad to save some to listen to later.
Don't miss the PDF. She frequently mentions pictures that are in it. I tried to look at it on my iPad, but it wouldn't open. After I finished the book, I looked them up on my laptop.
It would have been better to look at them as they were mentioned.
This book made me laugh out loud pretty much every five minutes. I love Tina Fey and it was a treat to hear her read this very funny book.
Tina delivers an amazingly hilarious story with just the right balance of humor and thought provoking insights
