I loved the personal, friendly connection this audio book offers . I felt as if Tina Fey were right across the table telling me her story.
This book reminds me of Let's Pretend This Never Happened and the novel, A Walk In the Woods. All three are unabashedly presented. All are funny and a delightful look at how silly we all are in our quest to improve our lives!
Loved hearing how SNL actors and writers work together. Scenes that come to mind are Tina's photo shoot, her retorts to ridiculous emails, and her recollection of how her Palin character came to be such a favorite. Tina also has a fun take on birth, babies and breastfeeding... I laughed so hard.
I did get a few looks from people when ever I had those snorting "bursts" of laughter while riding my bike around town.
The audio book needs to be longer! I hated that it was over so soon. Write more Tina Fey!
Yes, I like listening to Tina tell the story.
The beginning is hysterical.
Her personality is great!
Her story about her father.
I loved that Tina Fey actually reads the book. Therefore, it is her own words put into action.
I think I liked how she described her childhood. She funny even as a kid.
It was great to listen to. I thought it was great that Tina Fey actually read the book - which made it more interesting.
Funny, well narrarated.
The first half was hilarious.
The chapters on growing up.
Yes. I laughed aloud while reading it.
I would! And I have, while sharing it with others. It is hilarious, well-written, and meant to be performed - what more could you expect from a comedian, right?
I am familiar with Tina Fey's work on television. I enjoyed this more, because it was an insight to her life, with the same quirky view on things.
Yes, though I didn't have time for that. It took three sittings.
Since I am a male, I didn't fully appreciate all of the humor in the book. Kind of like the male writers she describes in her book when she proposed the SNL commercial for Classic Kotex. However, I do not have a jar in my office.
Yes, because it is relevant, and funny!
She is the funniest woman alive. I laughed out loud multiple times and the "mother's prayer for her daughter" is the best. She gets it. Tina, we should be friends, we have a lot in common :)
To all my ladies, all I can say is that this book makes me laugh at myself because I'm laughing at Tina Fey for laughing at herself (and all the silly things she's done in her attempt to be a woman/ feminine/ attractive/ fit into societal standards of being the female gender). It makes me take life less seriously, but be more serious about life (I'm inspired by her dedication to her craft), which is seriously great.
For all the dudes- get some perspective on this funny lady who taps into the psyche of most of the non-supermodel females out there (ok, some super models may share her sentiments as well). And listen because she's a bad ass, and great at what she does- which is make people laugh (while simultaneously causing you to question the foundation of your deepest beliefs). Ok that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but she's got some good "pokes" in there that will leave you pondering.
I liked Tina Fey before listening to her book, but now I like her a lot!! I loved that Tina Fey did the narrating of her book. She's so funny! The book is a great way to get to know Tina better and a facinating look behind the scenes of the TV (SNL, 30 Rock) business.
To a female
Yes with the understanding of what it is about
Nice book, you find your mind wandering from time to time
