Tina is great, she has a grea sense of humour and she's super smart! Not a lot of comedians are. I would try another book from her, but I prefer to watch her on TV.
Yes, I would. It's a funny and easy to listen to book especially that it's narrated by Tina herself.
I watch 30 Rock, and listening to Bossypants, Tina gives the book a 3rd dimension. I doubt that the normal reading experience could be anywhere close to the fun experience this audiobook provides.
Not really, because it's not a story, it's more of mini stories, snippets from Tina's professional life. It's entertaining to listen to, but I don't see as a hit in a movie frame.
Funny, sensitive, interesting.
Her first meeting with Lorne Michaels.
For those who love Tina Fey and are not sensitive to the F-bomb! I already knew she was smart and funny; she is strong, courageous, and insightful, too. It was fun to hear her read it. Plus, I enjoyed the PDF file with the pictures. Great book!
Tina Fey is a great writer. But she is also an amazing performer. In this audio book, you get the two combined.
Much of Tina Fey's humor is conveyed through subtle inflection and the essence of her personality. Experiencing her reading the book gives you a much better chance to capture the full humor and spirit of the book.
To sum up this
When Tina described how 30 Rock came to be and her transition from SNL to 30 Rock.
I would have asked her to sl-o-o-o-w down and take more breaths; let the audience take it all in at a slower pace.
Her description of her involvement with the Sarah Palin sketch and how all of it transpired was hysterical and gave a more personal side to the Tina who was making fun of then-Gov. Palin.
Not my story to change...
I would recommend it to all my women friends
Yes. Overall the production was competent and professional
Nope. Fey, although a highly talented comic writer and very funny in certain roles, has made her point in as much as the comedy industry is male dominated. How she dealt with it is interesting to her and those who wish to follow in her footsteps. but it's done.
good first effort.
what was the point of this story? I did not care for this book and would not recommend
The story. what makes her story so unique? Guess I am not a Tina Fey fan
Listening to Tina Fey reading her own words had me laughing out loud while I walked listening to my Ipod. I must have looked like a lunatic!
loved Tina Fey reading her own story... she is funny and yet genuine. You know she is telling the truth.
Her short and quick
She is SO quick with her potty mouth that you wished you had that kind of talent!
It's a breath of fresh air
When her boss called her to come back in after she threw a conniption. He didn't correct her; he just left her a message of what's being served for dinner.
How she points out the criticism of men in and out of her business.
I've never watched 30 Rock, I'll start recording it now.
funny, entertaining, enjoyable
Tina Fey doing SNL and 30 Rock impressions
Nope, first one
I wouldn't usually read this kind of book, never would have considered buying the hard copy, but I was looking for something light and entertaining to listen to and this audiobook exceeded all my expectations by far!!
There is so much added value in hearing Tina herself narrate this book, being the comic genius that she is, she really brings it to life - with sarcastic tones, impressions, intonations and more. It's a pure joy to listen to and I am already mourning the fact that I have only 28 minutes left...
