I believe in true love, happily ever after, magic, and laughter. But mostly I believe in coffee.
The overly long pauses between chapters in this book were simply nerve wracking. Three seconds is one thing but 10 to 15 seconds of dead air lasts forever when you're waiting on the story to progress. On more that one occasion I thought something was wrong with my devise or headphones. Emily Gray does an excellent job and I hate to rate this as only 3 Stars, but I simply cannot recommend this book on audio without mentioning to horrible dead air pauses. I will continue on to the next book and hope for better editing.
Sadly poorly executed.
Of course, Alexia is quite marvelous, but I am rather partial to the idea of her husband!
Emily Gray is perfect for these stories and previous installments have been very well performed, but this version went wrong somewhere in the editing/production. The pauses were all were all over the place, leaving great yawning silences, sometimes between sentences which really spoiled the pace of the story and overall effect for me.
Alexia's exploits are hilarious, but I got quite annoyed with this book because of the stupid gaps and pauses.
This audiobook needs to go back to the producers to be improved upon.
I have finished all 5 books and wish there was more available for that series, I hate when they end. Still hoping for more since book 5 didn't feel like a true ending.
Usually not into books placed in a time so long ago but deft enjoyed this one and love books with a supernatural twist.
I liked this book. The story is interesting. Alexia is fleeing England because the infant inconvenience and she runs to Italy to try to learn more about her father. I am a fan of Alexia and her parasol protectorate. Emily Gray did a nice job, as usual. My only complaint is that you hear Gray taking a breath and then there are these long pauses which can be annoying.
SMART FUNNY ADVENTURE
The laughs , the adventures of a strong will woman
Not that kind of book
Say something about yourself!
I really love hearing Emily Gray voice all of these wonderful characters.
Hard to say, I think Channing is still my favorite character. He's a small part but ads so much!
Emily Gray is amazing! I have listened to her in the previous books and she is just so talented! She brings so much to the characters!
Not to give anything away, but the final fight really said something to me. The way Alexia's friends came together and made their own fighting force was really impacting!
I really love this series, I have given the hard copy books to three friends and they have all loved it!
I loved this clever writing and all the amazing research that was apparent in the Alexia Tarabotti books. I could not wait till this last one but the first 2 were so amazing that I was a bit let down by the third. It just seemed very contrived - forced even - and did not flow as well as the rest. I was disappointed, Perhaps the author felt rushed to complete this last installment - but it just did not have the clarity or believability of the previous ones. I fell in love with Alexia in the first 2 books but in this one I just wanted to clobber her over the head. She lost her charm. I hope the next featuring the new arrival will go back to the par oF the first two. I AM ROOTING FOR IT!
the continuation of what would happen next - based on the first 2 books.
This was the worst of the 3 I have listed to.
The reader is amazing. Her voices make the books come alive. Love listening to her!
The reader's tremendous job made my experience of listening to Blameless most enjoyable.
I love so many of the characters for their many layers. My favorite character in this book of the series is Madam Lafoux because of her wit and resourcefulness.
Emily Gray is terrific at bringing the characters to life and not getting you confused over which character is talking.
I definitely wanted to listen to this whole book in one sitting.
