I am a huge Van Halen fan and it was great to see where Sammy started from
How the Van Halen brother were so hard to work with
Great book it really shows the struggles with the life of rock star
This is my first audio book. So I don't have anything else to compare it too.
This is a non fiction Biography of Sammy Hagar, lead singer of Van Halen, and solo artist, so it is not a fictional book.
His vocals made it sound like Sammy Hagar might say it.
It was a touching book.
Sammy is my new rock hero. A real testament to the music industry. He's not a griper, or someone who blames people for his troubles. He went from rags to riches. The sections about his wife Betsy were moving. Great details about Van Halen that are still making me inspired. Certainly not a preachy person but one who tells it like it is. A real American male who makes it happen. A happening guy. Thanks Sammy.
My first concert was Sammy Hagar in 1982. I've been a fan ever since. Red is a fantastic look at where Sammy came from and how he became who he is. I couldn't put it down. I've always been a fan of Sammy's and I love him even more after this. Just added visiting Cabo to my bucket list. Scott Shepherd is a great narrator, even sounded similar to Sammy.
Good stuff, but jumps around alot, timeline wise.
The narration is spot on.
Sammy is a hell of a story
Just absolutely fantastic!! I've listened to this audio book 5 times. That's right...5 times!! That's how great this book is!! From his early roots, to rocking the biggest stadiums in the world...Sammy Hagar, still remains humble and down to earth. Do yourself a favor and get this book now!!
The story is interesting; Mr. Hagar lived from his teen years until this very day (whatever day you read this review) as a rock vocalist and musician....plenty of story there! The narrator does a wonderful job with his timing and inflection. It sounds more like a guy at the bar telling you his life story over a couple of tequilas than some guy reading from a book. Great job!
