"Review of To Kill A Mocking Bird"

First of all I purchased this book mistakenly thinking that it is a book read by Stephen Colbert & others. Granted it is my fault may be not to have read what was being offered more carefully. All the same I think there was some confusion in how Audible presented the option, the graphics etc.

Worse than that, the panel was worse than any discussion that one may have heard in a grade school class room. The questions from the audience were not audible, only the answers were.. overall very disappointed! Next time I buy a book, I want the real thing - A good reading of the book not the chit chat that I paid for..

    "THIS IS NOT THE BOOK--rip-off"

Audible is supposed to be a site to get BOOKS in audible form.
THIS IS A GROUP OF LIBERALS TALKING ABOUT THE BOOK.

    I WANT MY MONEY BACK!

    "Deja Vu"

If you would like to re-live the grueling academic circle-jerk of a LIT.101 "discussion group," this is a little better. In the end, I resent this recording even more because it pours gasoline on my already burning desire to revisit this book.

    "False advertising"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

This book was advertised on Amazon as "unabridged". It is not a book. Its a bunch of celebrities talking about a book. I guessed it would have been celebrities reading the book, which it is not. They are talking about the book

Has Thalia Book Club: Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird 50th Anniversary Celebration turned you off from other books in this genre?

    Yes

What didn’t you like about the narrators’s performance?

It was not the actual book

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Thalia Book Club: Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird 50th Anniversary Celebration?

    I would read the book

    Any additional comments?

Change the listing of this title

    "Not the whole story..."
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Why advertise a book if the whole story is not available...disappointed.

What character would you cut from Thalia Book Club: Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird 50th Anniversary Celebration?

did not listen to it since it was not the whole book.

    "I misunderstood the content"
What would have made Thalia Book Club: Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird 50th Anniversary Celebration better?

I did not realize this was a DISCUSSION of the book and not the book itself, and the book was what I was looking for. The book is excellent--I read it years ago, so was disappointed not to get the book itself. The audio was not good--extremely disappointing!

What would have made Thalia Book Club: Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird 50th Anniversary Celebration better?

If it were actually a recording of the book.

Would you ever listen to anything by Harper Lee again?

    Yes.

    Any additional comments?

Don't buy this if you, like I was, are looking for an audio recording of the book. I am an English teacher and find that audiobooks are more appealing to the students than my voice reading to them all the time. I thought this was and updated version. I was terribly mistaken.

    "not what it seems"

I wish I would have read reviews before purchasing the "book". I was looking for the book it self and this was not what it seems.
