No, it dragged and repeated and repeated. Not up to her regular, well-written novels.
Not from this genre, but it was poor enough that I am now hesitant to try another Lisa Gardner book. I loved the past four I've read. May try one more, but not ready still. Felt like this book would never end. I don't even know why I stuck with it. Well performed though, I liked that the two main, women characters had different actresses performing the novel.
No, it should've ended sooner.
Skip this one. Gardner has better, previous works.
I didn't like the narrator's voices... I found her representation of the child particularly annoying.
I usually like Lisa Gardner's stories, but this one was not as good as some of her others. It did, however, have sufficient mystery and surprise to keep me listening until the end.
I want to give this three and a half stars for overall. So I'm being kind. I just though it was a formulaic, overly complicated mystery.
The characters are likeable. And narrators are superb. It held me until things got too unbelievable. I'm not a big mystery fan. So I give it the benefit of the doubt and the 4th star. I read very few of this genre, and then usually because they are sure things. So maybe I'm not the best to judge.
I admit, I stopped caring toward the last hour.
I'm not sure who or what other people are listening to. This is a poorly written novel with weak, trite characterizations. Poorly read as well. How this gets near 4 stars is beyond me. I've listened to more than 100 audio books and this ranks as one of the 3 worst.
It's interesting that this book got 4 stars and positive remarks from many readers - guess it shows the wide spread range of what we all think is entertaining. I, for one, thought it was a waste of money to buy it! I saw through the plot early on, so it got tedious and boring listening to the repeated discussions of the same details of the case over and over and over - it was like the author was filling pages with words we'd already heard several times already. In my opinion, the main character reader was so syrupy and almost whiney sounding - just came across overdone!!! I love a good mystery, a well-written and thought-out plot and storyline, and interesting character development. Sorry, I just didn't like this book!
