This was a great book! The perfect mix of humor, romance and suspense. Loved the narrator (I'm very picky about the voice of the narrator. It can ruin an entire book for me). I can't wait to read Maggie's story.
I was a little curious when this book showed up in my "We Thought You Might Like" list on audible, but I was intrigued by the title, so I bought it. Trust me, it's well worth the money (or the Credit!) This was one of the most beautifully described books I ever listened to. Molly Harper certainly has a way with imagery - Grundy, Alaska is painted so beautifully you'd almost swear you were there! And you couldn't ask for a better narrator than Amanda Ronconi. All in all, this is one of my favorite new books this year. Molly Harper is certainly in my favorite author list now!
This audiobook is in my list of top three all-time favorites (next to The Help by Kathryn Stockett and Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redeption by Laura Hillenbrand).
I had never --nor ever wished to-- read a book about werewolves, and the title of the book dissuaded me from even looking at the reviews for days, but once I finally read the great feedback that listeners left, I decided to give it a try.
I had never read anything by Molly Harper nor heard anything narrated by Amanda Roncini, but I will hunt out both from this point forward for their highly entertaining and engaging story telling.
My husband, who rarely listens to audiobooks, was as enthralled with this story and its vivid characters as I was. We've been talking about it all weekend and are looking forward to more works by Molly Harper. Our ONLY complaint is that the story wasn't longer... we were sad when it ended! Sigh... that's the mark of a good book, I guess.
You'll be very glad you bought it.
I liked the idea of this book. The title was fun. The book was predictable and didn't have much build up. I wish I didn't spend my money on this title.
I have listened to all of Molly Harper’s books and loved them all. I read And One Last Thing and it was good but the audio version was much better. Molly Harper’s style of writing is great she writes snarky funny people that you can relate to. I feel like I know Mo (and Jane from the Nice Girls books). Amanda Ronconi is the perfect narrator for Molly Harper’s books she really has the snarky slightly southern (without being insulting, i'm from Tennessee) down. I cannot wait for the end of March when the second Naked Werewolf book releases. I hope Molly Harper continues to write these great books (both Naked Werewolf and Nice Girls, plus anything else she wants to toss at us) and I hope Amanda Ronconi keeps narrating them.
I cannot get enough of Molly Harper. I enjoyed her Jane Jameson series and I'm loving her Werewolf series. I cannot stop listening. Amanda Ronconi does an excellent job with the characters. Can't wait until the next installment!
I'll read anything- books, magazines, food jars, the dictionary...
I like Moe as much as Jane- and that's saying something. Keep writing, Molly! Amanda Ronconi is the perfect "voice" for this book, her range is awesome.
The story was so-so. Sometimes funny but seemed pointless. However, that could be because the narrator ruined it completely for me. She read the story with a nagging, whiny, irreverent tone that made the characters unlikable. Do they fall in love? Get eaten by werewolves? Live happily ever after? I found I didn't care as long as the woman quit whining into my ears.
humor, food and Alaska
It was fun. I am a big werewolf fan. So I have give any book that has werewolf in it a try. This one was a pleasant surprise. Molly Harper writing is very funny and I love her characters. I also love the bit of mystery in there to.
