The story is mediocre but the narration by Susan Ericksen is very bad. Her husky male voice sounds ridiculous. Try as I might, I could not get through this book.
Love books, preferably romance and suspense. Typically read/listen to 3-5 a week.
It boils down to whether you are a fan of the "Death Series" or not. This series is not for everyone. Me, I truly love the series. I like some books more than others, and can't wait for the next book to come out.
This book was a bit different yet I loved it. I have favorites. Although there are some similarities that you have seen or heard in other books, but it does not take away from this book. This is my favorite series. I read and listen to a lot of books but I never come away from them as satisfied as I do with this series. It seems J.D. Robb always find ways to balance the romance and suspense. I am not offended by the language. As usual I can't wait for the next installment, then I become sad and anxious for the next one.
I missed some of the other characters in this book and enjoyed a more visible role for Peabody.
Some readers like the weird and extreme sci-fi, that's not me, so this series is just right. Keep them coming.
I laughed,.. I cried...I cheered. In fact I listened to the last chapter 3 times before I started the entire book from the beginning for the 2nd time. Only problem I had was with the reference to a "400 pound stallion" Sorry that is not a very big horse at all. Overall I have to say it was one of the best and I have them all and have listened to each one in order.
The story is actually fairly decent and kept my interest. But, I almost stopped listening due to the narration. (1) Waaaayyy to slow. I felt like I was a kindergartener being read to, and (2) the narrarator's Peabody voice was horrible. It sounded like a woman trying to imitate a man's voice. Really?
Nothing gets me through the day like some time with NYPSD's famous Lieutenant Eve Dallas and her posse! This latest in the series is as good or better than any of the others - of which I have in my library the entire series. Kickin butt and takin names....Eve Dallas is my hero. Please don't make us wait too long for the next. Kuddos to author for your imagination in print, narrator (Susan Ericksen is phenomenal) and especially to the producers for making this available for download.
As always, I love the J.D. Robb book Treachery in Death. Exciting, exacting and keeps my attention. While I enjoy more reading myself as I have my own "pictures" of the characters, after awhile I could enjoy the narrator more and just enjoy the story line.
Say something about yourself!
JD Robb's Treachery in Death is one of the best in the series. Susan Erickson again has made the book come to life. The story, the tempo and the details as always are fast paced and keep the listener glued to their seats.
This is a well written story, extremely well narated by Mr. Ericksen, fast pacing and captivating. The ending is a little predictible but it is a great book.
