12 n \\\\ Born and grew up in Scotland. No species of book I do not love. Favorite genre History, thrillers, biography, memoirs etc
No, too reminiscent of the British Class System
Nothing stands out
I am a great fan of Judy Dench. I will watch any film in which she is involved in. She is a great actress. This book is snippets of the "right people" I was born and grew up in Great Britain. One of the reasons I left was the class system in which you are condemned to remain at the social level of your parents. You get the correct accent, go to the "right" schools interact with the "right" people and so forth. Judy is probably a lovely person who had all of those advantagesI wanted to gain an understanding or feeling for the "real" Judy Dench. I wish I had. If you want little "giggles" from the upper class this is the book for you.
i love judy dench, a fabulous actor and quite witty. she has many stories to tell. i don't think i would read it again, but glad to have read it.
What a life!
So many humorous anecdotes!
The laughter wasn't extreme; it was very natural and a lot of it.
Witty, informative, engaging.
I don't usually read memoirs.
Samantha Bond sounds so much like Judi Dench, that you forget it isn't Judi reading to you.
Wonderfully laugh-out-loud funny in places, and also very generous with emotion and appreciation for her friends and family.
It transports you into the world ot theater and film, with Judi Dench as your guide. Who better? I came away wanting to see much more theater, and more of Ms. Dench. It isn't gossipy, so if that's what you are seeking, look elsewhere. A class act.
