Very good information included here and added to my motivation to eat in a healthy manner.
I've read other books such as The China Study and Eat To Live and this was a good way for some of those concepts to be emphasized in my brain. I like that she gives many options for LEANING toward a plant based diet for those who are not yet ready to go "whole bean".
Read it in one day.
Enjoyed the book. I will probably listen to it again as it is very motivating.
I was interested in learning about eating vegetarian. Start a healthy diet and life style. Instead, the book is a political forum against the meat/food industry. Had I paid full price, I would be asking for a refund. There is more time spent on animal torture than giving me vegetable food ideas!
the time spent on statisitcs on the meat industry and diseases. Yes, I'm sure the stats are there but I did not need to hear scare tactics.
I liked the research, and most of the health claims are true as are the environmental impacts.
No. The narration was annoying, and the emphasis on guilt over our food choices I feel would cause people to shut out the possibility of going even vegetarian.
No. I think she rehashes information over and over, and says very little that I did not already know. Her delivery is poor, and places too much emphasis on guilt as well as coming across as morally superior.
I did not enjoy the narration at all, I felt there was way too much intonation, and it was hard to concentrate on the content. As to the content- I didn't find it very interesting, even though I have a vegan husband and am interested in the topic in general. I was disapointed.
