The characters and their adventures especially Dennis Silva
Yes. Enjoyable story with a great narrator.
William mixes up his voices well and seems to enjoy his work.
Survival moments were well done.
The story needs to end sometime. It's starting to become a story with no ending.
Absolutely! I love alternative history and science fiction. This is the best of both worlds. World War II is a favorite of mine and quantum physics is a great way to bring about a change in history.
It was a continuing story that gave you a chance to get to know and form an attachment to the charachters.
My favorite, i guess, was the irrepressible Dennis Sylva.
It made me do both in turn as you experienced the continuing struggles of the main characters with whom you had formed a bond.
Dennis Silva's escape from the traitorous New Britain Company henchmen, and fighting to survive on a truly hostile land over a thousand miles from rescue all the while trying to keep Princess Rebecca and Sandra Tucker alive another day.
Emotion and character depth brought to life.
the story and characters are so cryptic that if you don't already now everyone and everything that has preceded this book you will be lost and bored.
Who doesn't love a great series that is imaginative, well written, with wonderful characters and lots of action? i listen or read two or three books a week and am always on the lookout for good, entertaining series. These characters are so vivid that I become totally enveloped in the alternative world. Imaginative entertainment for adults. Well produced and well worth the credits for the series.
Great imaginative story. Taylor has a reservoir of great ideas. It's a very John Wayne western disguised in sic fi, with fun, accurate, technical flourishes. Mr. Dufris is beyond excellent as a narrator. I will be sad to find the ending.
I have really enjoyed the Destroyermen series; with its epic battles, fights for survival, nation building. It is a grand story told on a grand scale. However I find myself constantly annoyed at the book. The author is constantly providing character assessments, shedding introspective light, and providing background for thought. Great once maybe twice, but I was perturbed in the first book, livid in the next, flabbergasted in the third, and so on. Maybe if I had read the books a year or so apart I would have appreciated the reminders, but as I read them in succession I was just annoyed.
Despite this I would recommend the book, it has a great dynamic story told well enough to draw you into the alternate realm.
An incredible story woven with excitement and suspense. Another winner from a master storyteller!
5th in series. Not much I can add. Book 4 left some unresolved plots that Book 5 ties up. New alliances, new enemies and hopefully some new toys. William Dufris' narration is perfect!!! OK where's # 6?
