I really enjoy Vince Flynn and his Mitch Rapp series and despite my disappointment in this story line I will keep reading all his books I can get my hands on. What disappointed me with Memorial Day was that the plot was weak and the usual tension was missing. It did not keep me on the edge of my seat waiting to turn the page. I am not saying don't read this book but perhaps explore some of his other books first.
The realm of possibility always keeps me involved in a book or movie. Memorial Day certainly plays within those rules.
First let me say that I'm sadden by the passing of Vince Flynn and I'm listening to these books in order. American Assassin and Kill Shot... awesome! My favorite thus far. But I will say that I enjoyed Memorial Day as much as Tom Clancy's Without Remorse.
Mitch Rapp is a bad-ass! Nuff said!
I have to be honest... not every book makes me cry... or laugh for that matter. But I was on a 50 mile bike ride when I finished the book and I didn't want it to end. Thank you Vince Flynn!
Just when you think that the story is over and ending... here it comes again with another gripping scenerio you did not see coming.
I love the Rapp series
Loved this book--couldn't stop listening to it! My favorite in the series so far, though all have been impressive. Mr. Flynn keeps the story moving at high speed, yet manages to pull us along with him. Plus it seems all too plausible, from the threats themselves to the internal arguments. Can't wait to see what Mitch is up to in the next book!
listening to this book is akin to taking Ambien... problem was, I was listening while driving. Couldn't get past the first hour...returned it.
I am a registered nurse and a father of four great kids. I live in a rural part of Oregon and love it. I enjoy books, but Sci-Fi Fantasy has allows been the ones I reach for more than others.
Again, Mitch has to save America’s bacon and do it by wading, or in Mitch’s case shredding, the political landscapes. He will get it done even when the powers that be are 3 steps behind. Then he quietly gets a slap on the back and walks into the sunset until the next terrorist or radical wants to f**k with the good ol’ US of A.
It is right up there with the best of Vince Flynn. Fully developed characters, twists, turns and endless surprises.
Mitch Rapp continues to be my favorite character with the right mix of manly courage, irreverent of stupidity and touching sensitivity to those he loves and respects.
He is especially adept at Middle Eastern accents
I found myself driving around parking lots two or three times just to finish an exciting chapter!
I never think that Vince Flynn can top himself with each new title but he does it time after time-I got my husband hooked after just one road trip and seven hours of listening.
Memorial Day just like its predecessors is action packed from the first word to the last
I am currently working my way through the Mitch Rapp series and I would recommend them to anyone that enjoys a good thriller
Great work again Vince Flynn and it is always a pleasure to listen to George Guidall
Simple and Easy read. George Guidall brings life to Mitch Rapp's character. The variations in pace as the novel proceeds keeps the listening experience alive. A good companion for long traffic filled city drives.
I listen til about a book a month, sometimes more, sometimes less... great for commuting
Yes I would, but I would also tell them to be aware of the subject matter. It gets a little bit tired after a while reading about Flynn having to set things right politically and nobody else knowing how the real world works.
I would, I especially like the story's about his origin.
He IS Vince Flynn :-)
