Highly Recommend this funny touching account of Meg, a sassy, gutsy, success challenged young woman, who finds herself and finds Ted, a financially successful, emotionally challenged, Texas hunk. The dialog, the plot and the narrator does a wonderful job....if you listen to this you will have experienced life in Texas with all its loveable bigger than life characters. The narrator is exceptionally good as is the story! I love the fact that SEP uses familiar characters from her other stories. Now I'll have to listen to Glitter Baby and Fancy Pants again. This book is right up there with Natural Born Charmer. I'm already listening to this one a second time and I just finished it! SEP... Thank you for a wonderful vacation, please keep writing! I'm already looking forward to your next book. This one was OUTSTANDING!!!
I thought this was a sweet story. It was nice to go back to the characters that were so wonderful in the earlier books. I missed hearing their familiar voices through Anna Fields but thought Shannon Cochran did a very nice job. Narrators like Anna Fields are hard to come by, she was one of the greats. Although, as some other reviewers wrote, the story line was familiar it was still a good story. The right balance of humor and romance. It made me want to listen to the other titles again.
Loved the story, loved Shannon Cochran, this book was worth the long wait. Keep up the excellent work SEP, but please write faster!
She has written another of my favorites. This one brings most of the books together. I have loved all of her books, and can't say enough good things about them.
As always SEP entertains. I enjoy her books because they always have a happy ending, are very funny and quite entertaining. This is a great book to snuggle under a blanket with and just relax.
I have enjoyed so many SEP books, especially It Had To Be You, Heaven Texas and Natural Born Charmer -- they are full of wonderful characters, crazy situations and the funniest one-liners ever! I laugh just thinking about them.
What I did for Love and Glitter Baby weren't even in the same league.
Still, like Charlie Brown, I fell for the trick again hoping the last two were just aberrations. I???m just so sad. I don???t have anything good to say about this book,,,, not the characters, not the story, nada.
It???s a third strike, though
If this was just listed as SEP Lite, then it would be a good book. Like other reviews, this book was perhaps a bit more lazier and thinner than some of the other books by Susan. When I say lazier, she used a cast of characters from older books not because they added anything to the new story, but because it let the reader fill things in, instead of the author coming up with interesting and valid characters to support a new story. And that's where thinner comes in... The story is a repeat of Natural Born Charmer, but not quite as good. Meg is no Blue Bailey...
Keeping that in mind, if you like SEP, and it's still winter out there--it's not a bad read. Got me throught the weekend, it was -10 F out there! Just lower your expectations!
I loved the book, and the narrator did a great job. It is a real pleasure to have a new SEP book. I will listen to it several more times.
I have read/listened to ALL of SEP's books. And like most authors some of her books I liked better than others. This book has a great story with good, strong characters! I love that this story follows up on characters from some of her other books. It's like an epiloge within the main story. I liked the narrator and Anna Fields is a tough act to follow. If you like SEP I wouldn't miss this book.
