    "Not bad, not great."

Good enough. I did finally manage to get into it. This one sort of plateaus at some point and doesn't get any better. My sense was that the author feels the pressure given her past success and moreover wants be taken more seriously, like those authors that write books that become classics. The style felt a little too contrived this time around. The heroine is supposed to be a simple girl. It seemed to me at times that perhaps Ms. Moning or her editor has made frequent use of a thesaurus. I can certainly appreciate writing talent but the heroine seemed just a teensy bit out of character. But, if you have been following the series and eagerly awaiting this release, I would say go ahead and get it since this book whether well done or not ties up the loose ends. I can tell that there will be sequel, however I will be waiting until there are a fair number of reviews out.

"Loved it but be sure to start with book 1"

This was one of the best series. Karen Moning's writing was amazing. Search for "Shadowfever quotes" on the web to see what I mean. One that really got to me was when she was talking about death. "Time heals...No, it doesn't...." Of course everyone has different tastes but if you search reviews you will see that the majoritiy of readers loved it. They cried, They laughed, They sat on the edge of their seats. I loved the chemistry between Mac and Barrons, the action, mystery, adventure and romance. To really enjoy it, you have to start with book 1. Shadowfever is the 5th one.

    "Disappointing"

The material is bad, but the narration makes it awful. This is such a disappointment and waste of a credit.

    "Great wrap-up to the series"

I read this book before I got the audio book and was really happy with it. I got to audio book to have something to listen to at work. As other reviewers have noted, the reading is overly melodramatic on the female's part and not very subtle on the man's. Still, the story line wraps up the series nicely, and I think the author did a great job here. Thanks, KMM!

    "Trying to get through it"

I am trying really hard to get interested and keep going. The narration is so annoying. I have never put the term "over-acting" to an audio book, but the female narrator makes it sound like a bad play. I am on Chapter 4 and felt the need to write this review before others waste a credit. So far, I have little identification with any of the characters and the story line is bizarre.

    "One of my favorites!!!"

This series was a pleasure to read. From beginning to end it kept you wondering who was good and who was bad. The fact that there may be spin-off books from other characters in this series is exciting as well... Can't wait to read those... KMM did a wonderful and creative job with this one!!!!

    "Amazing!"

Now this is how an Audiobook is done! Natalie Ross and Phil Gigante do so much more than "read" this book, they bring all the characters to life. I read the book in print first and loved it but I was blown away with this audiobook. An amazing ending to a great series....loved it!

    "Disappointed"

I was very disappointed with this book, I couldn't even get past the first 30 min. I was bored and confused to what was going on in the story. I admit it may have partially been because the reader is terrible as well. I think the combination of the two just lost me. A complete waste of a perfectly good credit.

"I can only give it 4"

I have been waiting for what seems like an eternity for book 5 after than cliff hangers. I see many people have given the books 5 stars .. I don???t think it is a 5 star books ??? 3 1/2 - 4 yes not 5.

The narration was great, loved the 2 readers but at times I really thought it was a little over done and melodramic. Glad they used the same narrators as book 4. I think the book could have been edited down somewhat which would cut the listens down to less that 19 hours. I felt is was a little long.

KMM did have quite some twist and turns in the books .. just when I thought I figured it out she blew that idea right away.

If you are getting this books make sure you have either read or listened to the 1st 4.
