I read/listen to drown out the nonsense.
I was very disappointed with this book, I couldn't even get past the first 30 min. I was bored and confused to what was going on in the story. I admit it may have partially been because the reader is terrible as well. I think the combination of the two just lost me. A complete waste of a perfectly good credit.
I have been waiting for what seems like an eternity for book 5 after than cliff hangers. I see many people have given the books 5 stars .. I don???t think it is a 5 star books ??? 3 1/2 - 4 yes not 5.
The narration was great, loved the 2 readers but at times I really thought it was a little over done and melodramic. Glad they used the same narrators as book 4. I think the book could have been edited down somewhat which would cut the listens down to less that 19 hours. I felt is was a little long.
KMM did have quite some twist and turns in the books .. just when I thought I figured it out she blew that idea right away.
If you are getting this books make sure you have either read or listened to the 1st 4.
I am not familiar with this author and didn't realize this was part of a series. However, opening the story to her hysterical ranting about killing someone she thought was immortal was a bit annoying. I was sorry to have wasted one of my credits on this selection.
I've never shut off an audiobook less than a 1/4 of the way through, but this one had me wanting to turn it off five minutes in, I'm actually proud I lasted as long as I did. If I had to hear the full name of her dead lover one more time I was afraid my ears would begin bleeding! This was only paralleled by the ridiculous amount of time spent on the protagonist's laser-like focus on her feelings about EVERYTHING. The over the top dramatic scenes were exactly like listening to the weird girl in high school who haunted the drama department and who was more than a little out of touch with reality. Poorly written and the narrator didn't help, this was beyond bad.
This was a pretty good ending for the series, but not stellar. Too much internal dialogue and introspection really slowed the pacing and added page count. I fast-forwarded over an hour or more total of this type of thing once it started getting too tedious. Still many questions were answered and the last 1/4 of the book was the best--just when you thought it was going to end one way, something else happened or was revealed.
This audio book was FANTASTIC! It was amazing! I think this is one of the best fantasy series since Harry Potter. The book series is wonderful, no doubt deserving 5 stars, but the narration with Natalie Ross and Phil Gigante just made this story perfect. If I could rate it 6 stars, you betcha I would have! This was the type of book I stayed up really late trying to find a good part to put it down so I could sleep (there is never a good part to put it down) and would put on as soon as I would wake up. This needs to go on the must read list- no doubt about it.
The new "fever" book is fabulous! It picks up right where the last book left off and was as entertaining and unpredictable as ever. The narrorators are the same as the previous audiobook versions and of course did a wonderful job. Definately worth your credit.
I cant say enough great things about the final chapter to the fever series. I LOVED IT!!! I waited so long for it to come out and it was everything i hoped it would it be. I have gotten so many people started on this series it crazy and everybody loves it! I just wish there would be another book it is kinda sad to see it end
This was an excellent book. After reading the others in this series which all end in cliff hangers I decided to listen to this one. Excellent narration. I gave it only 4 stars because a lot of the book is just the rambling thoughts of the main character. Several times I would be thinking OK get on with it all ready! Overall very good book.
