The narrator was terrible
had to stop listening because i could not get past how bad the narration was.
I may try and read the paperback version. The story was going somewhere good.
For the first 3 chapters that narrator was almost too annoying to continue...very monotoned and not diverse with her character dialogue...but then the story saved the narrator. I thought it was going to be a rehashed plot...but it held my interest and got better as the book went on. The author developed characters more realistically than throwing in a romance that was so "deep". Good on you, author. I will buy another audiobook because I have a long drive coming up...I can only hope that narrator worked on being interesting like the story is.
Samantha is a good reader
not sure of the name but I read a book many years ago similar to this
she has a pleasant voice to listen too. and has enough voice change in the characters to make it interesting
it was a little long and may of been able to shorten of few areas up. but overall I think it was a pretty good book
I think I liked the Tucker/Clara dynamic the most. They just clicked so well. I was rooting for them from the start.
Well it's about angels and nephilim, but it's nothing like The Mortal Instruments or the Sweet Evil series. It really made podunk Montana sound lovely.
I haven't heard her before, but I enjoyed her, to be sure.
It made me laugh. But I was ready to rage quit if [spoiler] died.
I'm not swooning over Christian, and I'm worried about Jeffery. Also Angela; I just don't trust her.
Some Fun, some sad, but all good
The loyalty from a young man, to protect a girl who didn't love him as he loved her
i liked this story because it was different than any other book I have read so far. I also liked the idea of angels instead of the gobblins, ghost, witches and vampires. I also liked that it deals with normal "teenager problems".
she did the voices well. But she was slow in some spots.
I haven't had a chance to listen to it in one sitting. Though I would love to some parts were slow and I had to turn it off.
Its a great read and I would recommend this book to my friends.
This is a wonderful coming of age story. The whole angel thing, although undeniably a prominent backdrop, is really overall secondary to the character's growth as a person. Self-esteem, identity, friendship, love - they're all the themes of this story. It is well-worth the read. Samantha Quan is a great narrator. If you're into Young Adult fiction and have any qualms about angels or the supernatural, this book may change your mind.
After getting beyond the need to have regional words pronounced correctly, I enjoyed the story enough to download the second so I could continue the series!
It took me a day or two to get through the first couple of chapters, but little by little it got better. I really did enjoy it, and loved the lightheartedness, yet grounded characters- no mumbling or muttering characters, or lip biting weak female character.
Strong characters, unexpected love story, and interesting characters.
Not really, but it grew on me. Give it a chance, I couldn't wait to read the second book.
Yes- love the series, and finished the final installment. End with the second book- loved it. The third book is great, poignant scenes, but I hated the ending.
These reviews are done by his wife :)
how the author had different levels of angels
If you believe in angels, this is a nice fantasy story about a family of angel bloods...
