I have read/listened too almost all Starwars books out and this was one I hadn't been aware of until now. So with excitement I got it without reading reviews.
I have wasted my money. The performer sounds like he has just learned to read with many awkward pauses and the story just drones on. I only got about 3 hours into it and decided silence was better. This is the very first audio book I've ever not finished.
Save your credit and get any of the other great Starwars books.
great story excellently written. Awesome book. the narrator read in an unnatural manner almost mechanical. it was hard to listen to because of the narrator. it was almost like it was computer generated.
This book was as much Star Wars as the latest Harry Potter book. In fact, if you substituted the word "sith" with "death eater" and "Jedi" with "auror" and had the seldom light saber reference changed to wand, this book could have easily been a Harry Potter and zombie fusion instead.
Coming from a background of having read dozens of Star Wars books and having watched every movie several times, I was really hoping for some strong sith lore at least. There was zero lore.
If you're into quirky sound effects of heads being squished onto meat hooks, and listening to the detailed descriptions of faces being ripped to shreds by the teeth of other former sith students turned zombie, then boy oh boy, this is the book for you! There are hours of cheese ball sound effects and gory descriptions.
This book is not for the faint of heart. This should definitely be rated R.
it had a few unique twist I got a little hokey taking the Dark Side of Witchcraft illness and sorcery into the dark sides abilities interesting concept but not quite sure if it jibes
Wish I could get this time back. Even the Star Wars Universe isn't immune to the obsession with zombies.
No it was not due to just the amount of characters and names in this book!
This is definitely a ZOMBIE book. A wonderful zombie book set in a Star Wars universe. It takes a very interesting turn half way through where plant life comes through in a zombie universe. Very new, very cool. LOTS of characters though and lots of different names which makes it a little hard to follow especially when listening and not reading. YAY Sith zombies.
The book was amazing especially the way Joe endused the horror into the star wars genre. Everyone gave this a stupid low rating just because of how squimish and disgusted some were. If you dont like the horror genre of book this is a defenite no no. Others on the other hand is a must buy.
I chose this book without knowing the premise, so it took a while before I realized it would ONLY be about teenage Sith zombies. The story was just terrible - I didn't care about what happened to any of the characters except kind of the protagonist and she went from being perfectly helpless to supposedly strong to helpless again so many times I couldn't even keep track.
John Glover's performance was awkward. His pronunciation was stunted and jarred me out of the story I was so desperately trying to finish multiple times. Overall not a Star Wars book I'd recommend to anyone.
nothing to say but the narrator was ssooo bad. he made it hard to enjoy the book. I thought the book was trash until I was able to hear past the narration around maybe chapter 25... he is God awful... you would be better off reading the book yourself as opposed to having this narrator..... SAY the book to you (as opposed to read) of he were an actor his range would be akin to Nick cage.. that is to say this narrator had ZERO range.
