No,it was kind of generalized with no real outcomes of specifics.
It's good. I'd say that I don't regret reading it. I just like a bit more depth than wind. I've nothing against the author. I was hoping for more. It's just not my cup of tea. In honesty I've lived in a country that didn't have the technology and things were simpler and more relaxed and all I saw was poverty and lack of drive.
I read the other reviews and some said that after you've heard about 1 blue zone the others are the same and that's just about it. Didn't get to the end as I got the point by the 3rd chapter, I hung in for a few chapters more but couldn't carry on!
The author did a good job of blending epidemiologic data along with some interesting stories/anecdotes to make a compelling book. At times the strength of the recommendation given exceeds that of the data available. But all in all a good effort!
A kent'annos! Basic information about four of the world's "Blue Zones" presented in an entertaining series of research vignettes. It's fascinating to see how much of Dan Buettner's research has already become accepted as fact by the popular culture, and thus some of the facts seemed redundant at this point in our history. Well-written and read in a pleasant manner. I would recommend this audiobook, even despite Mr. McConnohie's kind of laughable Sardinian accent. :)
Ok, let me save you a few hours; Drink water, eat a good diet, get moderate exercise, surround yourself with others. Got it? Then you need go no further! Seriously, it wasn't a bad book...it's just nothing new. Now, on to the "artist" who insisted on attempting to imitate a number of different drawls and dialects instead of just reading the book: You, Sir, are not good at accents and you are hugely distracting! This is a book, not high school theater club! Not impressed...
Interesting descriptive information about these populations, but compared to what? People with statistics background will likely be disappointed. On the other hand, it probably won't hurt to adopted many of the lifestyle activities identified in the book.
Yes It is a great book to help with your life and well being.
All of it!
a great story and insight
Live long and prosper
I have all my friends reading it. It can save your life.
