Very excessive use of profanity!!! NOT typical of previous Clancy books. Long repetitive explanations/descriptions of everything.
General interesting story, however way to "drawn out"
Yes we have listened to Michael Prichard and enjoy his narration.
Not sure but again, I would significantly reduce the long drawn out repetitive "explanations" of what people are thinking etc..............................
I generally like Tom Clancy. The epic scale of his books, however, requires a lot of background and setting up.
Michael Prichard does a fine job of making the various voices and accent. He keeps his expression mostly neutral, but that's fine. However, Michael makes frequent un-necesarry pauses, seemingly at random. For me, this was slowing the pace down too much, and also somwhat disorienting.
One of Tom Clancy's best. Full of military details for every weapon of war. China is the dragon, in an all out battle for the riches of the new Russia.
I hadn't heard much about this one but the complexity, wide range of viewpoints, characters and suspense was much better than some of the more popular Clancy books.
