This story is about Russia, China, and the USA , human rights and the treatment of citizens...a whole lot of history, and predictions for the future.
The story highlights ... Greed, a country on the fringe of becoming economically stable, and unusuall alliances ... Something here for all readers...lots of emotional flares... And vulnerablity by strong people.
Worth a credit any day
Michael Prichard turns in a great job reading
An unashamed Audiophile who has his own studio and business called iZENEARS which brings Australian travel and history to life for locals and visitor's alike.
Audible would do well to let us all know when you select a book if there are ones that you should have heard first. I got the series out of order which was confusing. That being said, a great book and a long listen
poor, poor russia. this book makes me sad because on one hand it's portrayal of modern China/trade deficit is accurate. however, the soft on Russia stance makes me cringe in light of recent airline targeting by russian jerks. the hopefulness of race relations was the most depressing, 16 yrs later and dispite a black prez our society is seperating at the seems.
Jack Ryan and John Clark
not so Monotone.
Felt like the reader, a little monotoned.
I have listened to a lot of Clancy's books. This is the first one that seemed a little too predictable in some areas and unrealistic in others.
I always enjoy the breakdown/strategy of battle that Clancy brought and was not disappointed in that aspect.
I think this is only my first or second Audible review. Having been massively disappointed with the last offering of Brad Thor and The Campus series I decided to reach back for some older Tom Clancy. This book had it all. The plot, character development and the action were all very well done. The variety was fantastic too. Michael Prichard stepped it up a notch as well.
Not my favorite Tom Clancy by a mile. Now I know why this was somewhat obscure. Without giving away a major story theme - too much time was spent on that point. Yes, the antagonist country is evil because of this practice but I didn't pick the book to be lectured on the subject.
