Yes, there are certainly funny moments when you would least expect them. The voices of the "dummies" make you feel like you are listening to a group of very unique people tell the story of not only Jeff's evolution but theirs as well.
Walter is awesome, and it is true you almost forget he is conveying thoughts that Jeff himself has. He can get away with a lot!
There are snipets of stories within the book that seem unfinished or unnecessary. Overall funny, light, and interesting listen. I admire his passion greatly.
Loved listening to this book. Full of enthusiasm and humor. You can tell that Jeff loves his work.
Ordered this book on a whim before starting out on a 5 hour drive. Kept me in stitches and the made the drive seem like a drive to the market rather than a cross-state trek.
I keeeel you!! If you've seen/heard Achmed, you'll know what I mean. If not, buy the book and enjoy!
The voices of the characters.
A look into the mind(s) of a (nearly) schizophrenic comedic ventriloquist.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and hearing about Jeff Dunham's journey through life
I loved the fact that Jeff Dunham portrayed all of his characters in the book and argued with himself too.
I was moved by Jeff's chapter about his divorce and his tribute to his daughters. It was very touching.
This book is the life story of a very talented guy, who states that with prayer from his parents, a few key opportunities and a lot of talented people helping him has become one of the world's top performers.
Jeff opens up about his experiences and shares his personal views and appreciation for all the great opportunities he has had in his career. Jeff started at an early age, it isn't by chance he is successful. Being a grounded person, who has a clarity about life really makes for a great story.
A talented guy with a big heart.
Dunham tells his life story with the occasional help of his characters. The snark I'm used to in his standup isn't much here -- instead, he tells things sincerely. It's calm, but not boring.
I have been a fan of Jeff Dunham since the early 90's and was interested about his autobiography. I was moved by Jeff's openness in sharing his life story. Where many may try to only show the good side, Jeff shared the good, the bad, and the ugly of his life's journey. Only Jeff Dunham could have performed this audio book as there are many sidebar comments from his characters scattered throughout the book. The comments made in character just do not translate as well in the print version as hearing Jeff do his comic schtick. If you are a Jeff Dunham fan, I highly recommend this book.
Worth lisining to again, Jeff worked hard to get where he is and I could relate to alot of it.
Love all of Jeff's characters, but Walter is my hero. He tells it like it is, open and honest.
yes...parts of it
very good and used other voices
who is that speaking
very good...a bit sad...but Jeff stays upbeat
Yes, to catch some of the things I did not hear the first time.
How Achmed saved him from U.S troops.
Hearing about meeting Bob Hope, George Burns, Johnny Carson and Milton Berle.
I couldn't, it was 8 hours long.
I couldn't wait to get back into the car to turn it on again.
