I'm a retired retail exec and have taken up my love of quilting as a retirement vocation. I devour audiobooks as I sew. Love it. Picture is of me and my BFF, Bill. 2013
I just can't get into Orson Scott Card's style. I made it through most of the first part, but I find, due to the insane repetition of characters analyzing themselves: forward to go backward, to go forward faster, but slower.... I found I really didn't care about a resolution of the story and I won't be reading any more of the series. Very disappointed; but enjoyed that it was a very special price.
Yes, may be it will be more reveling next time.
It will be spoiler if I say, so I would rather not say it.
Thank you narrators.
Slowing know the secrete chapter by chapter.
Chapter 10 must be re-recorded without dramatic voice. It kills all the continuity.
Say something about yourself!
I enjoyed OSC development of this story and all the character. the story flows well and you don't want to pauses it at all
Orson Scott Card has a distinct way of simplifying complex philosophy and science and making it entertaining and understandable. Even though the science is mostly of his own creation, it seems plausible and factual.
Pathfinder is a unique take on aspects of time travel and superhuman abilities. The characters are multi-dimensional and have a breadth of depth. I always enjoy the witty dialogue and the fact the children of most of his novels are smarter and more insightful than any professor I have had in college.
Loved the story and can't wait to continue the story!
So I've been enjoying this book and having a blast. Suddenly in chapter 42 the entire narration changes. Different narrators with a juvenile style of telling a story.... It's pretty much ruined the audiobook for me. I'll probably just read it instead. I can't stand how irritating these last part of the book is being told.
It's fascinating, mysterious and exciting.
Why in gods name did you switch it up? It was WORKING for me. I was ENJOYING the book. And then you change narrators? Seriously? WHY?
It was a good story.
Please warn me if any other future books have a giant rip off like this toward the end. It is NOT a nice surprise.
the narration is horrendous. it is all over the place and keep me from 'escaping' into the story like I usually do.
won't make it there
this narrator ruined the book for me.
didn't get involved enough to know
And Buffalo George
Card combines young adult fantasy and science-fiction. Pathfinder is a complex and sophisticated narrative involving space and time-travel --secrets and intrigues that keep you turning pages/listening. At the end, the author stated that he had achieved his goal and tht soe of the skipping around in time was necessary for the story. The political intrigue is complicated. In production, multiple narrators were used for the same character...very distracting.
