Wayne June is an amazing narrator, and the two stories are captivating and I find my self craving to dive deeper into the world of H. P. Lovecraft.
the language is hard to follow at times for a non native English speaker. but the vivid detail I'm which the writer has written the stories help to paint a vivid picture of the world and characters. a good start into the works of Lovecraft.
never before has there been a narrator so perfect for the subject matter. chilling and enthralling from it's inception the words ring in your conciousness as a choir of eldrich horror and narrative history.
I discovered both HP Lovecraft and Wayne June far too late in my life. Lovecraft wrote his works of horror, science fiction, and fantasy so well all those years ago that you will be amazed upon experiencing these tales that he is not a modern author. My first experience Wayne June during his narration of Throne of Bones. Then again, here. Any horror story without his narration does itself a disservice.
Classic done right.
Dunwich horror just sums up how awesome this whole thing is. Great story with a truly talented actor reading it. His voice add an element of creepy and dread but also emotion and flow that makes a good story great. This is how it was meant to be done.
Creepy and involved with a scene of ruptured dread that makes the whole experience fun.
If you like dark stories, Lovecraft, good story telling, or just a dam good performance by a talented reader, get this one.
Lovecraft is best read yourself in quiet house on a winter night, but listening to Wayne June is a close second. Great performance.
