This is a great book! As a first-time parent of an adopted toddler, I had little lead-up time to prepare, and this book helped sort through the mixed messages with which various forms of media bombard the general public. Without the time to sift through the peer reviewed research myself, it was hard to separate those pieces of advice that are based in strong evidence, from those asserted by very vocal people who have never bothered to research the questions they answer. John Medina did the work -- I won't say that he's smart, but I will say that he worked very hard. I thank him for that priceless advice (and I'm pretty sure he's smart, too).
i really enjoyed this book. it's getting a little use to , to mr.medina's voice. but whatever you read is very informative and a parent can understand the logic behind what is said.
A must-read for new or expectant parents! This book presented research and then some practical ideas that a parent may use to create a brain-rich environment!
Using scientific research and facts, author explains the truth about baby brain development and our ability to influence it. While neither this book or anything will guarantee perfect parenting, it will provide some rules and guideline to give you the best statistical chance to raise a happy, healthy, and moral baby.

Overall, I found this book to be very interesting and I will definitely be using the advice and suggestions that were provided. Some very good tips!

You want to listen this book. I did it two times and purchased hardcopy. John did tremendous job analysing all data and presenting it to you in form we can understand.
I would recommend, because I like the raise your kid with empathy and allow emotions. Identify emotions and raise kids authoritatively. Many of the suggestions are good, but the book is boring when it references MRI scans and brains lighting up. No one cares.
The ending is good. About the last 30 minutes summarizes everything again. Which you need in case you were lost when he started talking about something way too technical.
This book will never be a movie. Maybe a NOVA presentation.
This is my first baby book, so I don't really have anything to compare it against. One bun in the oven and we are just making sure we don't rock the boat per this books suggestion. No Mozart in this house.
I would differently would not try another book from John Medina and/or John Medina? I don't know if the they are trying to be funny or not.
Hell no! I would never waste my time agian listening to his negative opinion about children.
I tried listening to this book for two hours and all it did was stress me out to the point that i had had to stop playing it.
