I am a D-Bag.
Re telling Peter Pan on acid would be a good summary. The story is fine but the voices the narrator uses for Pan is annoying. Just the way he says PEEEETTTTEEERR over and over is enough to make some one driving crash head long into concrete wall.
I like a good twist on an original, but this book was so dark and depraved, that I had to fast forward all the time to avoid the evil images filling my mind. I wish I had never spent the credit on it.
The biggest irritating thing I could say about this book was that the readers interpretation of young kids yelling made them sound like old men. I know the reader can't yell into the mic but I just couldn't get over it and it graded on my nerves.
Then all the cursing the kids did. I know that they aren't great kids but it seemed that the reader didn't know what to make kids say so he had them curse for cursing sake. Even hanging out with my guy friends I never cursed, nor did my friend, like that. Also grading on the nerves.
But there where some cool ideas in this book and some nifty twist and turns.
