I loved the entire Bride Quartet Series. It was very predictable but still very romantic, funny and interesting. The story held my attention and had me determined to listen to the whole thing right away. I was sad to see the series end without the weddings of Emma, Laurel & Parker.
I love Nora Roberts, but I especially love her series books, because you really feel part of the family by the time you are through reading the series. Although I have favorites, I really enjoy all of her books. The Bride series is wonderful. I am not terribly 'girly' but this series brings out the girl in me... and each book was my favorite at the time of the reading (or listening). Book Four - Happy Ever After - was bittersweet because it was another chance to be part of this amazing foursome's lives, but it was also the end of the series. I recommend the series and the fourth book ties the series together nicely. A very 'feel good' series.
I enjoy this bridal series so much. Every woman should experience this kind of love between friends. I want each of these women's careers; the photographer, the florist, the pastry chef and event planner; oh so yes. I have fallen in love with each man in every book, and now it is wonderful Malcolm's turn. He is Mr. Hot; HERE-NOW. SO LADIES AND GENTS ENJOY THE LOVE, FRIENDSHIPS AND PASSION.
I loved the story. I am an event planner and was amused and pleasantly surprised at how the wedding planning business was right on. I would have given the story a 5 star rating except I hated the voice the narrator used for the man male character. She did other male voices well, just not this one. I enjoyed her voice and the rest of the reading, just not that particular voice. In spite of that, I was glad I made the purchase.
Thank goodness they went with Angela Dawe to narrate these last three books! I actually listed to these out of order going 3, 4, 2, 1. If I'd listed to #1 first, I'd never have bothered with the rest of the series. These four Bride Quartet books are classic Nora Roberts in my opinion. Not as good as Blue Smoke or Northern Lights, but still good.
I like the first 3 book in this series but this one had the feeling that the author ran out of neat stuff to write. I expected more from Parker???s story after going through the first 3 woman???s struggles to find their loves. I was simply disappointed.
I loved the Bride Quartet overall but the last two books really didn't measure up to the first two. The story needed more development. I thought Happy Ever After was better than Bed of Roses but Parker is such a complex character...the romance with Mal really needed better development. I am sorry that we won't get to experience the other weddings.
The narrator did a wonderful job bringing the personalities to life. She was great to listen to.
I loved all the books in this series, however this one was the hardest for me to enjoy. It felt rushed. Actually the last 2 in this series were rushed. But still worth the price. I believe you could have done more with Parker than this. You made us believe she was more complex than this story, I was so looking forward to it. I appreciate the series as a whole. These women are great characters, everyone of them.
the last in a series of 4 and very very good. The friends all have different personalities and you feel like you know them before the series is finished. The narrator does a great job and Nora Roberts tells a terrific story. Very worth the time.
