Nora never fails to entertain me and this, the last in the series, was no exception. I was expecting it to be dull, predictable, old-hat after spending so much time with these characters already, but I really enjoyed it.
I know there is a huge range of opinions on the quality of this series, and admit that the depth of the characters is lacking. Nora's women are always strong, competent, opinionated, LOVE what they do for a living (their 'calling'), and just need to stumble around in said relationship a little before falling perfectly in love with the perfect man. I'd like to see her wow us with a love story that happens AFTER the wedding - after the meet, tangle, fall in love saga - after the chemical rush of love is long gone and routine sets in. That would be impressive. Until then, these thrilling predictable tales are certainly fun.
Angela Dawe's voice adjusted well to each of the characters--and she kept the defined voices throughout all four books
Malcolm's meeting with Linda at Mac's wedding and reminding her of their last meeting.
Parker's dealing with the couple who bought their four uninvited and unruly children to their cousin's wedding. I love how she handled the obnoxious guest who was not even slightly apologitic about the damage and inconvenience they caused. I bet a lot of people wish they had a Parker to put uninvited guests in their place.
Parker, of course, because she was the most focused
I'd love a follow up book 5 to pick up on the lives--if not wedding--of the quartet.
Yes, and I have to many.
All the girls are my favorites.
I am sad that this is the end. I felt like the characters were part of my family and didn't want the good times to end.
I loved all four books in this series... and it was truly sad to see them come to an end! Get lost in the stories of these four women.. you won't regret it!
I loved the entire Bride Quartet Series. It was very predictable but still very romantic, funny and interesting. The story held my attention and had me determined to listen to the whole thing right away. I was sad to see the series end without the weddings of Emma, Laurel & Parker.
I love Nora Roberts, but I especially love her series books, because you really feel part of the family by the time you are through reading the series. Although I have favorites, I really enjoy all of her books. The Bride series is wonderful. I am not terribly 'girly' but this series brings out the girl in me... and each book was my favorite at the time of the reading (or listening). Book Four - Happy Ever After - was bittersweet because it was another chance to be part of this amazing foursome's lives, but it was also the end of the series. I recommend the series and the fourth book ties the series together nicely. A very 'feel good' series.
I enjoy this bridal series so much. Every woman should experience this kind of love between friends. I want each of these women's careers; the photographer, the florist, the pastry chef and event planner; oh so yes. I have fallen in love with each man in every book, and now it is wonderful Malcolm's turn. He is Mr. Hot; HERE-NOW. SO LADIES AND GENTS ENJOY THE LOVE, FRIENDSHIPS AND PASSION.
I loved the story. I am an event planner and was amused and pleasantly surprised at how the wedding planning business was right on. I would have given the story a 5 star rating except I hated the voice the narrator used for the man male character. She did other male voices well, just not this one. I enjoyed her voice and the rest of the reading, just not that particular voice. In spite of that, I was glad I made the purchase.
